5-Amino-1MQ Oral or Injectable Experiences

6 replies4 peopleAug 31, 2026☆ Follow
Summary

Does 5-amino-1MQ work better orally or by subcutaneous injection, especially when stacked with NAD?

Users report mixed anecdotal results for both routes with no clear winner, and dosing amounts differ widely. One person found 100 mg oral daily split into two doses improved energy and reduced brain fog while on tirzepatide, with mild GI upset as the only noted side effect. Others plan to test injectable versions but provide no outcome data yet. Blood ketone readings rose slightly for the oral user, though overall effectiveness remains hard to isolate amid multiple compounds.

What this discussion establishesWhere people disagree

Whether oral or subq is superior remains unsettled, with some viewing results as possibly placebo-driven.

Optimal dosing, long-term effects, and reliable biomarkers for mitochondrial peptides are not established.

Nothing here is advice.

Wondering whether people notice different results from taking it by mouth compared with under the skin. Planning to combine it with NAD and trying to decide on the better method.

Anecdotal reports go both ways on each method, and the amounts people use also differ a lot. That makes the whole thing inconclusive and possibly just placebo.

Synergy matters. Rodent data suggests going with at least 10 mg injected under the skin would be my choice.

Picked up what looked like a reasonable price on 50 mg capsules and will test them. Hoping for extra energy in the afternoon while using tirzepatide. SS-31 and MOTS-C helped before, but MOTS-C gives a strong lift only on injection days and leaves me drained afterward. Also need something for mental fatigue from a demanding job.

The capsules are working okay so far. 50 mg daily did not change much, but 100 mg feels like the right amount. Using 1 mg SS-31 plus 50 mg in the morning and another 50 mg at lunch along with the weekly tirzepatide. Energy is better, brain fog is down, and no afternoon slump. Ketones are a little higher than usual. Lost a few pounds, though some may just be fluid after a stall. Only side effect is mild stomach upset. Taking it without food because of one-meal-a-day eating, which might affect how well it works. Sleep might be a touch harder but could be unrelated. Will keep splitting the dose.

Appreciate the update. Found a decent price on the oral version myself and may keep it for later. Any specific blood markers you check to judge how these mitochondrial compounds are working?

Nothing special comes to mind. Will run a metabolic panel and cholesterol labs soon. Too many things are in use at once to judge any single item clearly. The main things that can be tracked are blood glucose and ketone levels for metabolic and fat-burning effects.
