Maybe Reta is starting to work, but I’m still a bit confused

Summary

Can mild nausea mean Retatrutide is beginning to work even when appetite suppression is still weak?

Users report that Retatrutide builds up over the first weeks, so early low doses mainly acclimate the body rather than deliver full effects. Some experience quick appetite changes while others see only mild nausea or stomach heaviness without much reduction in hunger. Weight loss can still occur without strong suppression because the drug affects satiety once eating starts. Experiences vary widely between individuals and dosages.

Hey everyone, continuing my log. On day 6 yesterday I took another 0.5 mg and still felt hungry after a few hours like normal. Before bed I decided to move toward 2 mg a week split into two 1 mg shots, so I gave myself an extra 0.5 mg not long after. This morning brought some nausea and a heavy feeling in my stomach. Could that mean the medication is beginning to act? Thinking about pizza still makes me hungry though, and I’ve read others say they forget to eat altogether, which is why I’m unsure. How did it go for the rest of you?

That sounds like a typical reaction to Reta and similar GLPs. Assuming nothing else changed in your routine, the feeling might ease as your body adjusts, though it doesn’t for everyone. Reta often needs several weeks at a given level before the main benefits settle in, and that timeline differs from person to person and dose to dose. I had light nausea moving from 1 mg up to 2 mg but it faded once I reached a steady 4 mg. It’s probably fine to keep the twice-weekly split you mentioned rather than dosing more often.

You’re still early with the peptide. Retatrutide needs time to accumulate, so the opening weeks mainly get your system ready for stronger results later. Keep following the discussions here and look into the trial data if you want more background. Patience and steady use matter most right now.

I'm wondering if the pounds still drop on this stuff when hunger doesn't fade at all. I pretty much ate my usual amount today. There might have been a tiny dip in how much I wanted food, though it barely registered.

The first eight weeks or so stay low just to let your body meet the peptide. Pushing higher too soon can bring side effects, especially a faster resting heart rate. You’re still at a low amount. I haven’t used it myself but everything I’ve seen calls it the strongest of the three GLPs, so no need to rush. Reports say real results often begin between 2 and 4 mg. Tirz is said to cut appetite more than Reta, and some add Cagri later for extra control. Just watch portions so you don’t overdo it.

A lot of people still think weight loss only happens by eating less and that lower calories always means faster loss. That idea doesn’t hold up here. If it were simply about cutting intake the most, there’d be no reason to choose reta over the others, yet the two stronger appetite suppressants usually give smaller average results.

Responses to these GLPs really differ between people. Sema barely touched my appetite while Reta had me locked down within six hours of the first 1 mg. I have to remind myself to eat, portions stay small, and alcohol lost all appeal. That’s the opposite of how I usually am.

If you’re hungry, eat. Unless it’s just boredom, don’t fight what your body needs. When you do eat, stick to whole foods. I’ll usually cook a steak or chicken, stop when I’m full, and save the rest for later snacks when I feel a little peckish.

It took effect for me right away after the opening injection, yet the particular symptoms such as reduced hunger or queasiness ended up being quite personal for everyone.

KeenCompass55archiveDec 15, 2025

The real advantage with Reta is that hunger can still be there, yet you feel full very quickly once you begin eating. It keeps you from undereating while still limiting how much you take in.

I dropped a fair amount of water weight early on and the scale moved up and down. Appetite effects took a couple of weeks to show for me and never fully turned hunger off. That was at 2 mg per week. The suppression got better once I moved up to 4 mg.
