Hi everyone, I'd like your honest take on this idea. BAC water costs a lot and is difficult to obtain, so why not make it when the formula is public and the ingredients are inexpensive? My approach would be 0.27 ml benzyl alcohol mixed into 2.73 ml sterile injection water for 0.9 percent by volume. For easier measuring I would probably use 0.3 ml BA in 2.7 ml sterile water instead. Sterility precautions and alcohol wipes would of course be followed. Do you see any problems or dangers with this approach? Are others already making their own?

Problems or dangers with your plan? Definitely. One reason the well-known brand is popular is that it is a known quantity and considered reliable. You can trust you are getting what is claimed, assuming it is genuine, so any issue with a reconstituted product is less likely to be blamed on the water. Your plan adds too many variables when other commercial options still exist that carry lower risk than home-made versions. No offense, but I would not want to use something prepared that casually either.

I have thought about it too. If I truly could not obtain any, I would just use plain sterile water for injection. Reconstitute a 60 mg vial with 1.5 ml, then immediately draw it into four separate insulin syringes. Use one right away and store the rest in the fridge. That gives four single-use doses without repeated punctures of the same vial. It only becomes an issue for daily injections or pen use.

I had the same thought and looked into it. Wiping surfaces with alcohol disinfects but does not sterilize, so proper equipment would be required. Even then, airborne particles would contaminate the batch without a laminar flow hood, which is expensive. Getting exactly 0.9 percent is not enough; the final pH also matters and needs accurate measurement without introducing contaminants. Final filtration should use 0.1 micron filters rather than standard 0.22 ones, which are harder to source. After running into all those obstacles I abandoned the idea.

Other reconstitution solutions exist. Watch for sales on the common brands. I am surprised how many people assume making it at home is sterile and cheap. Alternatives have been mentioned before. They carry research disclaimers and COAs, but so do the peptides themselves.

Even commercial versions would be preferable in that situation. If you really must proceed: one 50 ml vial of sterile water plus 0.5 ml BA. Be extremely careful.

Reverse osmosis water under 4 ppm solids, filtered, then UV sterilized. Add benzyl alcohol at 0.9 percent by mass. Do not UV after mixing because the alcohol is slightly sensitive to it. Weigh 0.9 g into a volumetric flask and bring to 100 ml with sterile water for an exact 0.9 percent mix. Volume mixing alone gives roughly 0.94 percent, which is still acceptable but not identical. Purchased BAC water is rarely this precise either.

A workable home-lab method using common tools. Start with 10 ml sterile water vials. Make a 10 percent stock by removing 1 ml water and adding 1 ml pure BA. Then add 1 ml of that stock to another 10 ml water vial to reach roughly 0.91 percent. Adjust volumes if the vial is too full. This keeps batches small so nothing sits around long.

There are two camps: those who dislike new threads and those who dislike reviving old ones. BAC topics appear almost daily anyway. The cost argument is overstated; a single bottle lasts months even with conservative use, so the weekly expense is tiny compared with the risk of using questionable water.

The preservative level drops after the vial is first punctured. Official guidance is 28 days, though tests show it can remain effective up to 90 days. That means several bottles per year for regular use. Commercial alternatives from other regions can be obtained more affordably in larger volumes.

Recent tests showed little loss even at 120 days. Still, I would choose purchased product over homemade if a bottle lasted that long. The whole topic receives far more attention than the actual savings justify.

I have access to the necessary equipment at work and would pay for my own materials, yet I remain hesitant because I do not know the right phosphate buffer strength. Are the metal caps on vials easy to remove and reseal?

I have been making my own from the start. With under forty euros in supplies I can produce liters. A scale is essential along with proper water, and a few tricks make it manageable.

The alcohol can partially oxidize into benzaldehyde but the amount stays well below toxic levels. Light exposure should be avoided to limit free radicals. Minor evaporation occurs, which affects concentration slightly. pH can drift, especially once peptides are added, and test strips are sufficient to check. Repeated punctures almost always lead to biofilm on the septum after about ten uses.

I watched the interview that was recommended. The speaker noted that in his region they often skip BAC water entirely and simply use sterile injection water.

Sterile water or saline are common alternatives discussed in many threads. The EU approach often favors sterile water alone because the downsides of BA can outweigh the benefits, mainly potential irritation. Sterile water is easy to obtain in some places.

It works. In regions where multi-dose vials are not standard, sterile water is used routinely. I have injected compounds in plain sterile water or saline without BA. For anything that will sit longer than ten days I still prefer BA. One test with pre-drawn doses in syringes gave mixed results; one syringe clogged.

I tried making it and the first few vials were fine. Later ones developed visible particles or cloudiness after swirling, so I discarded them. After locating commercial ampules I stopped attempting to make my own.

I currently make my own and find it straightforward. Just confirm the sterile water is true WFI grade and the benzyl alcohol is USP grade.

I have no science background, but I doubt most people, including myself, can achieve proper sterility without specialized equipment that is not readily available.

It can be done at home with the right knowledge and equipment, and it is not particularly costly once set up. Even so, I still recommend that almost everyone simply purchase it instead.

Pressure-canning distilled water gives exactly pH 7.0. Once opened the pH begins to change. If the jar is opened inside a sanitized box and the mixture is promptly transferred into sterilized 10 ml vials, the risk stays low, similar to using research peptides.

Two additional points: only USP-grade BA is suitable for injection use and it is not easy to find. Getting the alcohol to mix evenly into the water can also be difficult; it requires mechanical stirring, mild heat, or sonication rather than simple shaking.
