Slow low-dose titration schedule for appetite suppression and weight loss

64 replies21 peopleMay 23, 2026☆ Follow
Summary

What titration approach works for early low doses while managing fading effects and side effects?

A user titrated every six days from 1 mg to 5.5 mg and recorded steady 2 lb weekly loss totaling 20 lb along with initial mild euphoria and nicotine suppression that later faded. Sleep changes were linked to concurrent medication and heart-rate increases were noted during exercise. Dose-unit confusion was resolved in the thread and larger jumps were suggested but rejected due to sensitivity history. Returning food noise led to discussion of adding another agent.

What this discussion establishesWhere people disagree

Whether early titration should use larger jumps or remain incremental due to individual sensitivity

Still open

Optimal early titration speed and whether low-dose plateaus can be sustained long term

Nothing here is advice.

First try at half a milligram. About an hour later I noticed a mild upbeat feeling, though it could have been nerves since it took me that long to actually do the shot. Planning to add another half milligram in a couple days if nothing bad shows up. Goal is to reach at least two milligrams as quickly as my system allows. Forty years old, six foot three, three hundred sixty pounds, with a lot of muscle from lifting, sports, and outdoor work. Own a ranch and stay active every day after my desk job. Hoping to get back down to two thirty where my waist was thirty three or thirty four inches. Fingers crossed.

Sounds good, excited to see how it goes. What pushed you toward starting small like that?

PatientTimber45archiveMay 23

Keep it under one milligram a week for the first month so you can watch how side effects build gradually.

Wanted to check my reaction first. I tend to be pretty reactive to meds and once had a bad allergic response, so a tiny test seemed smart. Will go full dose once it looks safe.

GreenSignal63archiveMay 23

Probably just the rush from the first shot. Good luck with everything.

You might be right, but the feeling is still hanging around four hours later. Shot was around ten forty five in the morning and it is almost three now. Ate lunch at two and felt less hungry than usual for that time of day. Curious how much is just in my head versus real sensitivity.

LevelSignal46archiveMay 23

I would have started with one milliliter if it were me. I weigh less than you and handled one milliliter fine for a month before moving to one point five.

PlainAlder11archiveMay 23

At your size two milligrams would be a better starting point. Where is everyone getting the idea to begin at half a milligram? Pretty sure the feeling was just nerves from the shot itself.

BlueMeadow35archiveMay 23

The upbeat feeling is still there, maybe placebo. I have seen half milligram test shots mentioned in several spots. A relative started at that level for a whole month on the research version and did fine. No issue adding another half milligram in a few days if nothing bad happens. Slight headache starting, just keeping an eye on it.

SlowSignal40archiveMay 23

I nearly went that low too but ended up choosing one milligram instead.

BlueMeadow35archiveMay 23

Headache is getting stronger, going to take some ibuprofen.

SlowSignal40archiveMay 23
↳ replying to @BlueMeadow35

Skip the NSAIDs and use acetaminophen instead. Tramadol works if you have any.

BlueMeadow35archiveMay 23

Already took it. Can switch to acetaminophen later if needed.

AmberSignal47archiveMay 24

Drink plenty of water too. Started at half a milligram myself and felt spaced out for a couple days, though it was not unpleasant. Glad I did not jump higher right away. Nice thing about the research stuff is you control the amount. No rush needed, took years to gain the weight so an extra month or two to lose it is fine.

BlueMeadow35archiveMay 24

This is interesting. I might be one of those strong responders like I mentioned earlier, happens with most meds for me. Still have some of the upbeat feeling and the headache is gone. Ate dinner and noticed clear appetite reduction. Only managed a quarter to half my usual first plate and had no interest in seconds. Blood sugar after the meal peaked at ninety to one hundred instead of the usual one twenty to one forty, and three hours later it was down to fifty eight. Felt a bit hungry but not enough to eat. Staying up a bit longer in case it drops more.

GreenSignal63archiveMay 24

Make sure you add electrolytes, the headache was probably from dehydration.

WarmMeadow92archiveMay 24
↳ replying to @SlowSignal40

Exactly. When I began with GLP-1s I had a headache that would not quit. Tried tramadol after a few days and it cleared up after a couple doses.

BlueMeadow35archiveMay 24

Got nervous about the glucose drop last night so had a small snack and it came back up. Headache still gone this morning, the upbeat feeling has faded, and hunger is back. Slept until nine thirty and the sleep score hit ninety five, which matches the recent weeks on daily supplements.

PlainWillow50archiveMay 24

What was your starting weight and how are you increasing the dose? How has it been going? Thinking about switching from tirzepatide soon.

SlowSignal40archiveMay 24
↳ replying to @PlainWillow50

Started the current compound on May first with weekly shots. Began at one milligram, went to one point five on the seventh, and took the fourth shot on the twenty first still at one point five. Started at two hundred fifty five pounds, now at two hundred forty two.

BlueMeadow35archiveMay 25

Yesterday felt great. Still get hungry but it does not turn into that angry binge urge. Smaller amounts actually satisfy me, which is new. Alcohol is strongly reduced too. Managed two twelve ounce lagers over a few hours but could not finish more even though it tasted good. Since there were no bad effects and some said the dose was low, thinking about another half milligram today to reach one milligram total for the week.

ClearAnchor99archiveMay 25

Good luck with the new start. We seem close in age, height, weight, and daily activity so I will watch your updates. Know there is a fit body under the extra weight too. Have some on the way and hope to start in the next week or so, still deciding between one or two milligrams. Best of luck.

ClearBramble68archiveMay 25

Might be one of those people who stays low for a long time. Have seen a few on the other compound who got strong suppression from the very first tiny dose only for it to fade, then they had to keep increasing.

BlueMeadow35archiveMay 25

Second shot, another half milligram, total now one milligram. Will see how it goes.

BlueMeadow35archiveMay 25

At one milligram total this is more like what I expected. Almost no food thoughts, no real downsides. Got busy after breakfast at nine thirty and did not notice missing lunch until three thirty. Had a couple chicken tenders and wedges on the way home and felt uncomfortably full after just that small amount. Skipped anything heavier. This really works. Oddly my glucose monitor showed the biggest swing yet, from eighty eight up to one fifty three then back to ninety six in an hour.

PlainAlder11archiveMay 25
↳ replying to @BlueMeadow35

My wife and I have not had fast food in twenty years. Since January everything we eat is fresh and made at home. Only restaurant food is plain chicken wings and salads.

BlueMeadow35archiveMay 26
↳ replying to @PlainAlder11

Most of my meals are homemade too, especially working from home out in the country. Still surprised how little of the chicken and wedges I could finish. Dinner was the same, could not eat my usual half serving of steak, chicken, potatoes and sides. Tried a beer and only got through half. Drank three glasses of water instead. Really liking it so far.

BlueMeadow35archiveMay 26

Today was different. Simple breakfast of two eggs, toast and a few grapes filled me up. Lunch at noon was one chicken breast and green beans and that was almost too much. Then around five I suddenly wanted a snack badly, not starving but the urge was strong. Had a protein shake, peanut butter and cheese to calm it. First time that has happened. No brain fog or headache at work. Still enjoying it and looking forward to reaching two milligrams.

BlueMeadow35archiveMay 27

Haven't checked your thread in a while, what dose are you on now?

BlueMeadow35archiveMay 27
↳ replying to @SlowSignal40

Sorry, meant to quote that. What dose are you on now?

SlowSignal40archiveMay 27
↳ replying to @BlueMeadow35

One point five milligrams, though it is starting to feel too weak.

SlowSignal40archiveMay 27
↳ replying to @BlueMeadow35

The effects are fading and feel weaker now, so next dose will go to two milligrams.

BlueMeadow35archiveMay 27
↳ replying to @SlowSignal40

Got it. At my low slow pace I can already sense the effect wearing off a bit, which matches the snack urge last night. Really want to reach two milligrams and possibly higher. Being so reactive to meds makes me cautious, but hoping for steady results like this past weekend once I get there. Would like to lose the extra weight and keep a supply going long term.

BlueMeadow35archiveMay 28
↳ replying to @SlowSignal40

Now it is happening here too. Food thoughts and strong hunger returned yesterday and are still here this morning. The half to one milligram was giving me the kind of quieting people describe with the other compound, which is big for my usual eating habits. On the good side, the quick fullness and reduced interest in alcohol are holding steady.

BrightSignal26archiveMay 29

Starting small here as well. Safer to go slow.

BlueMeadow35archiveMay 29

Effects from last night are completely gone. Weighed in this morning with no change. Planning one milligram tomorrow morning. The half milligram test was useful to rule out bad reactions, and the second one kept things going for several days. Any experienced users see a problem with one milligram on Saturday then another half or full milligram Sunday or Monday to reach one point five or two? Still cautious about jumping straight to two given how I reacted at the start.

PlainAlder11archiveMay 29

Stay at one dose level for four weeks. Just did eight milligrams this morning, my third shot, and will probably hold there for at least six weeks.

BlueMeadow35archiveMay 29
↳ replying to @PlainAlder11

Did half a milligram Saturday morning the twenty third and another half Monday the twenty fifth, split in case of issues. So reaching one milligram by Saturday would keep the same total dose, or am I looking at it wrong?

RustThistle90archiveMay 29

Let me run some basic half-life numbers here, anyone with more experience feel free to check me. After looking at a calculator, the Saturday 0.5 leaves roughly 0.25 on board while the Monday 0.5 leaves about 0.315, for a combined total near 0.565. Throwing in another 1.0 the next day would land close to what a single 1 mg dose on Saturday would have produced. Early on it seems like levels are still accumulating so clearance might be quicker until things stabilize.

BlueMeadow35archiveMay 30

Went ahead with the 1 mg shot this morning around 11:45. Slept in late which is rare for me lately and I wonder if this compound is helping my rest. Curious to see the response at this level. Half-life math puts me around 1.5 mg total on board now.

BlueMeadow35archiveMay 30

Within an hour the mild euphoria and appetite control kicked back in. Lunch felt like more of a chore than yesterday when the same amount would have been easy. Looking forward to how this dose level plays out with the earlier amounts still present.

PlainAlder11archiveMay 30

This stuff actually disrupts my sleep rather than improving it. Just let it work and I don't track changes hour by hour anyway.

BlueMeadow35archiveJun 1

Maybe it just hasn't impacted my sleep either way yet. My watch shows sleep scores mostly in the 90s lately which I don't recall happening before. Resting heart rate stays inside my usual 10 bpm range. Yesterday while working outside in heat and humidity loading animals I hit 162 bpm on the watch, higher than expected for the effort. I had heart procedures years ago but nothing since then except one bruise.

BlueMeadow35archiveJun 2

I think I figured out the sleep piece for me. Been using 25 mg of enclomaphine every other day for six weeks. Missed the dose two nights back and scored only 76. Took it last night and scored 99.

BlueMeadow35archiveJun 5

Did 1.5 mg this morning. Slight euphoria showed up again within the hour, the calm clear kind rather than anything strong. By 1:30 pm food noise was way down and I hadn't even thought about lunch. Protein shake went down fine. Nicotine cravings are noticeably quieter too, maybe 90 percent less after decades of use. Got some new research items in the mail today and will start a fresh thread later.

GreenLedger62archiveJun 6
↳ replying to @BlueMeadow35

My drinking is down around half and nicotine use is close to that as well. The 3 mg tins last longer now though not quite double yet. I can leave them behind when going out without needing to grab more. Nice bonus effect.

BlueMeadow35archiveJun 11

The 1.5 mg dose faded faster than hoped. Alcohol control and quicker fullness stayed but hunger and food thoughts returned to the 0.5 mg level. Today, six days later, I took 2 mg. Same light euphoria appeared again, not from any needle worry since that is gone. Planning to hold at 2 mg for a few weeks since some say that matches my size better than starting lower.

BlueMeadow35archiveJun 17

Last week finally showed real scale movement, down about 2 lbs. Took another 2 mg today and felt fine with no euphoria this time. If it stays that way I'll do two more weeks here before moving to 3 mg. Might wrap up this journal thread since the starting phase is done.
