How are you taking Glutathione?

Summary

How do people reconstitute and dose injectable glutathione for personal use?

Users typically reconstitute 600-1500 mg vials with 3 ml bacteriostatic water or a vitamin C mix and inject 100-500 mg doses either subQ or IM, several times per week. Most report manageable discomfort when keeping concentration reasonable and injecting deeper with smaller needles. Some start with higher loading doses then drop to maintenance, while others stay consistent at lower daily amounts. Experiences vary by route, with IM often described as less irritating than subQ.

What this discussion establishesWhere people disagree

Preferred concentration and injection frequency vary, with some tolerating stronger mixes and others insisting on more dilution to avoid soreness.

I got some 1500 mg vials delivered yesterday in 10 mL size. The seller suggested adding 5-7.5 mL of BAC water. I want to do 500 mg every other day, which with 6 mL total would mean 2 mL per dose. I was hoping to stay under 1 mL but everything I saw said it gets too thick otherwise. Should I split it into two 1 mL shots? Could the powder be turned into something usable under the tongue instead?

It won't be that thick if you use bacteriostatic water instead of ascorbic acid. As long as it's not full of fillers you shouldn't have any trouble drawing or injecting it.

My main worry is still the volume. Do you think 3 mL would work for reconstitution? Most things I read say anything over 1 mL can cause quite a bit of discomfort.

Are you going subQ or IM? IM should be fine with that volume. SubQ has less blood flow so thickness might bother some people more. If you do subQ try a 30 g half-inch needle to get it in a bit deeper. Comparing a 600 mg vial to a 1200 mg one side by side you can hardly tell the difference, so I think you'll be okay.

I use 1200 mg vials and mix with 3 ml vitamin C plus 3 ml sterile water. For a 100 mg dose I draw 50 units daily. When I first tried a stronger mix it stung badly subQ. They probably suggest more BAC to reduce pain. For subQ shots go as deep as possible to limit the sting.

I'm finishing off 600 mg vials before moving to the 1500s. The 600s mix fine with just 1 ml BAC and I inject the whole thing SQ at once using a 31 g half-inch 1 ml insulin syringe with no discomfort. I'll switch to 500 mg soon by mixing the 1500 with 3 ml and pinning 1 ml three times a week.

Thanks everyone. I went ahead and mixed with 3 mL, drew 1 mL and injected. My leg was a little sore afterward but nothing like what people were describing. Appreciate the advice.

How is glutathione usually dosed? Would daily injections of 100 mcg make sense or is that too much?

LevelThistle41archiveJan 26
↳ replying to @NorthLantern81

Right now I'm doing 500 mg every other day.

I doubt 100 mcg would give noticeable effects. I did a loading phase of 1200 mg five days in a row then switched to 600 mg Monday Wednesday Friday. Once the 600 mg kits are gone I'll move to 1500 mg vials and drop to 500 mg three times a week.

NorthLantern81archiveJan 26

Sorry, meant 100 mg daily. I have 600 mg kits and thought that sounded high, but from what I'm reading here it should be fine.

WarmHarbour52archiveMar 17

I was doing 100 mg subQ five to seven days a week but switched yesterday to 200 mg subQ.

PatientCompass47archiveMar 17

I take 200 mg every other day, usually IM in the ventral glute.

NorthThistle42archiveMar 18

Doing 400 mg Monday Wednesday Friday subQ after mixing 2400 mg with 3 ml gluta-water. I get puffy for a day then it settles.

ClearWillow37archiveMar 18

200 mg which is 1 mL every three days IM into the vastus lateralis. That muscle handles 2 mL easily if you push slowly. You could split into two 1 mL shots but IM absorbs fast so it's not needed. First couple IM tries are always nerve-wracking with sweaty hands and having to go slow on the plunger.

QuietAlder20archiveMar 18

Various domestic sources that mainly serve medspas carry the larger vials. They are meant to be mixed with a lot of saline for weekly IV use. You can add a vitamin C ampoule if you want. The max recommended concentration is around 300 mg per ml though many go stronger without issues, and it should be used within a few days once mixed. The 1500 mg size is simpler and cheaper to get. If you still want the bigger ones look at certain overseas pharma sites.

NorthThistle42archiveMar 18

It was from a specific pharma brand and cost around that amount per kit. If I spot it again I'll mention it. Since we pin MWF one vial lasts about five days. I'll probably switch to the 1200 mg size going forward because it's easier to handle.

Anyone using an auto pen for glutathione?

SharpCinder28archiveMar 18

Some do, but I'd use a longer needle than 4 mm, the longer the better for deep subQ. I prefer IM for this because subQ sometimes causes bad injection site reactions. The side hip area below the love handles worked okay for subQ the one time I tried.

Can I jump in with my own question since I can't start threads yet? I bought a local bottle to test before ordering kits. After reading here I'm confused because most seem to use 500-600 mg vials. The one I got says 200 mg glut, 200 mg ascorbic acid, and 2.5 mg zinc. Did I basically get something that will only last two injections?

SharpCinder28archiveMay 15

I was wondering whether this comes from a pharmacy that prepares custom mixes. If that's the case, could you tell me the milliliter amount in the vial set up for direct injection? One page I checked said to use a single milliliter of the immune support formula a maximum of two times per week.

My mistake, the package just arrived and it is ready to inject. 1 ml total, so that helps. My other stuff is the usual freeze-dried powder, only this one came liquid.

LevelThistle41archiveMay 18

Most single doses people use are 500-600 mg. So what you have is probably about a third of one typical dose.

SlowSparrow78archiveMay 19
↳ replying to @LevelThistle41

Yeah I injected 1 ml of it and got the worst injection site reaction ever. I'll be ordering a proper kit instead.

Didn't want to start a new thread since this one is recent. If I did the title would be something about glutathione and one person's experience. I was motivated by another user's reports and advice from a while back. Got some pharma 600 and 1500 mg kits, read up on mixing and dosing, and prepared mentally for IM. I've been doing 150 mg daily for about a year. I'm a Medicare eligible guy who's very pale and careful with sun exposure. I see a dermatologist twice a year and he asked if we went to Florida this year. When I said yes for two months he said my skin looks great and asked what I'm doing. I told him about the daily glutathione injections.
