From Sema to Reta??

9 replies9 peopleMar 4, 2026☆ Follow
Summary

What starting dose of Retatrutide should someone on 1 mg Semaglutide use when switching?

Users report starting Retatrutide at 1-4 mg per week after stopping or tapering Semaglutide, with slow titration over weeks. Some feel little effect at lower doses and increase gradually, while others note appetite changes or mild side effects at 3 mg. Experiences vary on whether to overlap the two compounds or switch abruptly.

Hey everyone, a buddy of mine is using 1 mg of Sema and wants to move over to Reta. What dose would be good to begin with?

I came off 0.75 mg Sema and began Reta at 1 mg per week with no overlap. After two weeks I went up to 2 mg because I wasn't noticing much, and plan to try 3 mg after another four weeks.

I took my usual 1 mg Sema on Sunday and added 0.5 mg Reta mid-week. I raised the Reta very gradually without bumping both in one week and now sit at 1.5 mg Sema plus 8 mg Reta.

I'd begin with 2 mg of Reta.

1 mg of Sema helped me drop 65-70 lbs when it first appeared as a research item. With Reta I began at 1.5 mg, then moved to 2.2, 3, and 4 mg before reaching 8 mg. Starting somewhere between 2 and 4 mg seems reasonable.

I would begin at 1 mg daily and split the shots as needed to build exposure without going too high at once. When I bridged from Tirz I used 7 mg across six shots in week one and 36 mg across fifteen shots in the first month with no bad reactions.

I went 1 mg week one, 2 mg week two, then 3 mg week three on Reta. That last step left me feeling like I had a head cold. The first two weeks did almost nothing for me, but at 3 mg I can eat a couple of 8 oz tuna-and-egg meals and feel satisfied for the day.

I switched from 2 mg Sema straight to 3 mg Reta after stalling. In the first two weeks I dropped 11 lb. Now on week three of the 3 mg dose I notice almost no side effects compared with Sema. Reta just makes my brain register fullness while Sema used to give me an upset stomach. I also feel more irritable with people. Planning to move to 4 mg on week four.

2 mg of Reta looks like it could be the right place to start.

I was on 2.4 mg of the branded Sema before switching and restarted Reta at low doses. Looking back I probably should have begun around 4 mg, but I agree 2 mg is a sensible starting point.
