User finds elora better tolerated than cagri with similar appetite control

15 replies7 peopleAug 5, 2026☆ Follow
Summary

How does eloralintide compare to cagrilintide regarding side effects, appetite effects, and dosing when used with tirzepatide?

One user on their third or fourth week of elora reports no mental fatigue unlike with cagri, similar food suppression described as constant satiation, and no upper GI issues while titrating from 1mg to 2mg with plans for 3mg. Others note switching from cagri due to sides, one citing an allergic reaction to cagri but considering elora, and another starting low-dose cagri cautiously after hearing of reactions. Elora is described as having a longer half-life and more targeted action leading to fewer sides.

I've been taking this for around three to four weeks now though my tracking isn't the best. So far this version gives me fewer issues than the previous one did. The earlier compound brought on odd spells of brain fog that I haven't noticed at all here. I began with one milligram then moved to one point five and reached two this week. Next step is heading toward three to check how it goes. Appetite control feels about the same as before yet I wouldn't describe it as blocking hunger or muting cravings. Instead it's constant fullness where I forget meals unless I make an effort. That matches the animal tests where subjects skipped food entirely for days. It's like the stuffed sensation right after a big holiday feast when nothing else appeals and there's no discomfort or swelling. The nicest change is zero trouble from the upper digestive tract so eating stays possible if needed without any queasiness or worse.

I'm grateful you posted about your experience. It's nice to learn there wasn't any tiredness involved for you. I bought a kit of that medication but chose not to start it because of the side effects lots of people report, which means I can avoid any receptor adjustment before moving on to the next option.

I'm combining it with tirzepatide, though I don't keep close tabs on the amounts either, probably around 18 to 20 milligrams. And no, I haven't just signed up lately.

That's the reason I'm planning to raise my dose quickly to a minimum of three milligrams given my earlier use of the first compound. Had I realized the newer option would appear during the warm months I likely would have delayed starting the original one too.

My beginning dose was three milligrams after several months using two point four milligrams of the prior compound, and the level has increased bit by bit. I've felt fine over the past three weeks with today's being my fourth one.

Why did you end up moving away from the old choice?

I'm curious about that as well. It costs quite a bit for those small bottles. Given how much goes into each injection, the amount per shot adds up fast. That seems ridiculous. By comparison the other option only needs a tiny dose so one bottle stretches out way longer.

Aren't those two operating in quite a similar fashion?

This version was created aiming at greater precision while lowering unwanted reactions. Both function as agonists for amylin.

I agree with the earlier point and want to mention that the second option stays in the system much longer than the initial one. The first substance is said to last around a week or so, reaching highest levels within a few days of dosing. The other one lasts about fourteen days and might take up to five days to hit its maximum after administration. Because of this extended presence, it should create a more even level throughout the week, build up more with repeated doses, take longer to start working noticeably, and clear out much more gradually once discontinued. The focused receptor activity along with those steady levels probably explains the reduced unwanted effects compared to the shorter one. Also, the second compound has a more intricate structure, which increases the challenge in producing it.

That's curious. A noticeable allergy issue came up with the first item on two separate tries, short of anything extreme, leaving me wary about the next option too, though interest lingers.

Taking just a tiny amount at present, I skipped the odd mental tiredness that came with the previous compound. Wondering if the trouble stayed local to the needle spot or spread bodywide instead. Did anyone check that particular lot for problems? Excess contaminants might spark a sensitivity response.

I didn't get it checked out, though the source seemed trustworthy, as people say. After each of the small injections spaced seven days between them, my eyes felt puffy and my hands plus arms started itching right around five minutes later. Even when I used an allergy pill ahead of the next one, the issue repeated. Too bad I couldn't keep going, since the way it cut my hunger, right from the starting amount, worked really well.

That comes across as quite alarming. I get why continuing might make you pause. The other choice could turn out to vary in effect. I feel the same way concerning those sensations. It stands apart from the mimetic types. It reaches me much like the initial one does yet skips any mental tiredness.

Hearing about that frightening incident made me begin with a low amount of CAG, starting at a quarter milligram. Then in the following week I went up to roughly a third, and now in the third week I'm at half. It seems to be having an effect, though getting the initial dose into place took extra time. During the warm months my place sits thirty-eight miles away, which means over sixty minutes to reach medical facilities. Your story stayed on my mind quite a bit. The idea of needing an airlift for my very first time, lying down while medical staff attend to me, didn't appeal at all.

13mg/2mL Hospira. 1 vial equals 4x3mg doses equals 3 weeks.
