Hi. Eczema appeared on my eyelids after I raised the dose to 4 mg roughly two months back, and I had never dealt with it before. I follow four weeks on and one week off. The break made me think a new cream had cleared it up, but the latest dose made it worse than before and it moved under the eye. The cream stopped working. Nothing else in my routine shifted between those weeks. Aside from a mild uptick in heart rate and some fatigue, I have no other issues. Others have mentioned this uncommon reaction too. I am unsure if the compound itself is responsible or if it is uncovering an allergy of some kind. I plan to lower the dose regardless and would value any input.

Not sure this relates to the main topic, but what is the reason for cycling four weeks on and one week off? I have not come across that approach before.

I do not know the exact mechanism. Eczema has been with me since my teens and had eased with age, yet a neck flare appeared while using reta and stayed even after I stopped. Only after starting high-dose KPV has it begun to fade.

The schedule came from my parent’s doctor, so I copied it. The idea is to limit receptor impact and keep weight loss gradual. Since the source is an MD and professor, I trusted the advice, though I know opinions differ on it.

Thanks for the book suggestion; that angle is new to me. I already visited a doctor who suggested steroids, but I want to avoid topical steroid withdrawal risks, so I am heading to a specialist in allergens instead.

It will be difficult to confirm any link to the compound because skin rashes occur often for many reasons. Allergic-type reactions to these drugs exist but are uncommon, especially when limited to a small area rather than widespread. Specialists in drug allergies are few and usually focus on severe systemic cases. If you suspect a connection, stopping is the clearest test; cross-reactions with other similar drugs are rare, so switching remains an option. A true allergic response would likely also produce an injection-site reaction since concentration is highest there, though local reactions alone do not prove anything.

I have only begun trying another GLP compound, so I will wait until I have clear results before commenting. Reta created multiple issues for me that went beyond skin. KPV has helped in my case and may be worth exploring even if results vary. I shared my experience with higher-dose KPV in another post if anyone wants details. Worth noting I stayed out of a calorie deficit during my own flares because weight did not drop.

KPV actually made my eczema worse. Still, it could be worth testing. My doctor recommended standard antihistamines plus a zinc lotion meant for infants, which gave solid relief.

I am only in week two of KPV and still have thumb eczema with no change so far. Week one was 5 mg each morning; this week I added 0.5 mg in the evening while also cycling another compound. Will check progress again in a couple of weeks.

The break did let it heal noticeably by the final day, which makes me hopeful that lowering the dose will help. If I need to stop entirely I will know soon. The spread only began after the increase to 4 mg. Itch intensity also drops the longer I am past the injection day.

I had a single-eyelid eczema episode too. It appears roughly once a year around this season and a short prednisone course clears it fast. Mine is unrelated to the compound and started in my thirties with no earlier skin history. These issues can appear suddenly at any age and then behave unpredictably. I usually manage routine patches on legs and elbows with creams and just accept them, but eyelid or face flares get the oral steroid. Eyelid eczema is miserable regardless of cause.

That pattern is encouraging. Clear improvement by the end of the off week plus reduced itch the further you are from dosing strongly suggests a dose connection. Reducing should be the right step, and many find skin symptoms settle once they stabilize at a lower amount. Let us know how things go after the change.
