Cycling Tesa and AOD with Reta

8 replies7 peopleAug 19, 2026☆ Follow
Summary

Can you swap AOD in for Tesa while on Reta to keep weight loss going without cycling off Tesa?

Users discuss running Tesa at 1 mg alongside Reta and whether switching to AOD near the usual Tesa cycle-off point would sustain results. One participant argues there is no need to cycle Tesa because trials and real-world use show it can be taken long-term and may even increase receptor sensitivity. Others report AOD adds a modest fat-mobilization effect that makes Reta work better without raising the dose, though one notes 1 mg Tesa already delivers noticeable benefits.

What this discussion establishesWhere people disagree

Whether Tesa must be cycled to avoid receptor desensitization or can be continued indefinitely.

How well an AOD-for-Tesa swap actually performs compared with staying on Tesa or using all three together.

Nothing here is advice.

I've been on Tesa at 1 mg ever since I started Reta several weeks ago. I'm getting close to the usual point where Tesa is supposed to be cycled off, so I'm wondering if anyone has tried switching to AOD instead to keep the weight-loss boost going.

I'm not sure how many people actually use AOD. If you already have it, the uneducated take is to give it a try, but I wouldn't go out and buy it just for this experiment.

There are plenty of accounts of people running only Reta and AOD together and getting a stronger response than with Reta alone. The clinical trials for AOD were done as a stand-alone peptide on people who didn't change anything else in their lives, so the results were mixed. The pathway makes sense once calories are reduced, which is why it pairs well with GLP-1s. The plan is to cycle between the two to stay within accepted time frames and avoid burning out the pathways. I haven't found many people doing it exactly this way, though lots combine Reta with Tesa or AOD or both and report big weight loss. I'm hoping Reta plus AOD will keep me at the same level without running all three at once.

There is zero point in cycling off Tesa. If it is giving you useful benefits, keep running it. Clinical trials lasted a year, and normal patients use it indefinitely. The cycling idea comes from wellness clinics making things up. Phase 1 data actually showed the opposite of desensitization: taking Tesa increased receptor sensitivity, with a priming effect. Cycling would likely remove that benefit and cause desensitization instead. Take most peptide protocols with a big grain of salt.

You nailed my thought as I read the original post. I suspect the poster is influenced by info on exogenous HGH, which works differently. With Tesa the body produces the growth hormone itself, so the production mechanism might actually improve while using it.

Isn't 1 mg too small a dose for Tesa anyway?

RustPebble10archiveSep 6

I have seen great benefits from 1 mg of Tesa when combined with Reta. I also want to cycle off Tesa because I have myocarditis and an enlarged heart, so I'm trying to reduce anything that could affect that. I've heard more about people using HGH Fragment 176-191 instead of AOD, but it seems harder to find, especially as a kit, though it doesn't have the same reconstitution issues.

What are your thoughts on a Tesa/Ipa blend? Should you still cycle if Ipa is included?

KeenThistle22archive1d

I've been taking both together, even though the first one is for my cartilage issues. It seems to boost how well the second one performs at the amount I'm already on. The idea is it frees up fat so the other can process it, though I'm not sure that's really what's happening. The improvement isn't massive, but it's there.
