Does anyone run tests on already mixed vials? I have quite a bit of this material and would like results but without sending or losing the entire supply. Testing just some of it would be ideal, though I realize opening the dry powder might not stay clean.

You will have to give up a whole vial no matter what. No labs I know of accept only part of the contents and return the rest.

What do the red and green colors represent? A positive percentage cannot mean the material somehow gained mass on its own, right?

I think the idea is sending a vial that holds only some of the liquid after mixing.

Getting the package to the lab costs something. The actual tests run several hundred. Meanwhile a single vial of the dry powder is only a small fraction of that.

You posted a colored spreadsheet with no link to any actual study. It seems reasonable to ask for the source. You must have gotten the information from somewhere unless you made the sheet yourself.

Also, the mass loss rate would differ between a small bottle and a larger one. If you do not know the amount used in that study that is fine, just say so.

Before doing any lab analysis I dissolve the contents of every vial holding the freeze-dried peptides. HPLC means high-performance liquid chromatography while LCMS means liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry.

I do not have a study. I am also not the one posting numbers from one while refusing to give a link. Basic math shows one percent of five milligrams is a different absolute amount than one percent of fifty milligrams. So even if the rate stays the same, the numbers shown in that image change depending on the starting amount referenced.

No results yet. I bought a larger amount from a local chemical company without checking first. It seemed questionable but the price made it tempting. Now that I have it I want to verify what is actually there. The plan was to mix it, split it into several vials, and send one for testing. I knew it was risky from the start and the whole thing might end up unusable.

People are having trouble taking the question seriously because it does not add up in several ways. On cost, one vial is a tiny part of the total testing expense. On the practical side, you could not create a usable sample because the amount of liquid added would not be measured exactly enough, so any result would be unreliable.

It would be far cheaper to buy a full kit from a known source than to test the single vial you already have.

Thanks for the direct and likely toned-down reply. When I purchased it I did not fully understand how testing works. Still, the possibility of getting larger amounts easily is appealing if the source can be trusted and the quality confirmed.

If the rate itself does not change then the numbers on the graph should stay the same because it shows percent change. Ten grams losing a certain percent is the same percent as twenty grams losing that percent.
