Cloudy Reta a week after Reconstitution

17 replies11 peopleFeb 16, 2026☆ Follow
Summary

Why does reconstituted Reta turn cloudy after refrigeration and does it clear safely at room temperature?

Some users see cloudiness develop after a week in the fridge that resolves after warming, with no immediate side effects after dosing. Others report never encountering this across multiple vials and concentrations. The quality of the bacteriostatic water is frequently suspected as the trigger, though experiences vary widely even with similar setups. A few discarded vials that stayed cloudy while others continued using clear ones without testing later potency.

Whether temporary cloudiness affects long-term potency or safety once the solution clears

Hi, I mixed 20mg of reta with 2ml bac water last Saturday for the first time. Followed the usual steps of letting the powder warm up from the freezer, using alcohol wipes, and adding the water slowly down the side of the vial, resulting in a crystal clear solution. A week later after pulling it from the fridge at 37F it had turned cloudy. Looked it up online and after about 20 minutes at room temp it cleared again so I went ahead with my 2mg dose and had no side effects. Saw references to cold-induced protein aggregation or cold related solubility behavior. I reached out to the source and a replacement is on the way. Do others see cloudiness that clears once it reaches room temperature?

I'm on my second vial of reta 30mg from different sources and neither one did that.

I haven’t had that, though I have seen condensation on a vial that looked cloudy until I wiped it off.

I heard about someone whose new vial reconstituted with factory bac water all at room temperature came out cloudy. Another vial from the same batch stayed fine when mixed with different water.

Last week I lowered my refrigerator temperature and some peptides turned thick, not cloudy or frozen, just gel-like. They went back to normal once taken out.

Yep, a bit of a puzzler since it was my first time. A bit discouraging but I have to learn from it. If I made a mistake it wasn’t obvious. Plenty of successful clear reconstitutions reported here. The source already sent a replacement. I haven’t gotten into buying kits yet, that’s next. With only one vial I didn’t want to risk it again. No side effects though. Definitely will toss it if it doesn’t clear after warming. Also read that too much powder relative to the water volume can cause aggregation. Heard the guideline of 1 mg to 1 ml. Anyone have data on what happens with higher concentrations?

The 1mg to 1ml ratio isn’t a strict rule, just a very diluted reference point. Plenty of people use 5 to 10 mg per ml without issues. The important part is whether it redissolves cleanly. Using 2 to 3 ml next time would lower the concentration a bit and might reduce the chance of it happening again.

I do 10 mg per ml and after six months have never had a cloudy one.

Thanks. I was planning to add more bac water for the next mix. Update: on Monday when pulling the vial for the next dose it was still cloudy so we tossed it.

Most of the time these issues trace back to the bac water used. Just some more stories from experience: on my seventh vial reconstituted to 10 mg per ml and stored around 30F in the lower fridge section with its odd temperature swings, never had a cloudy vial.

Heard. Headed to a different water source. I was stuck because I didn’t have a kit yet and the first one is arriving soon, so I couldn’t just move to another vial.

My first glass vial of reta 20mg lasted eight weeks without turning cloudy or losing potency. I used non-specialty bac water to mix.

Did you send any out for testing at the eight week mark?

A generic one from a common online retailer.

The solution I purchased for mixing has caused me no trouble whatsoever when preparing Tirz or Reta. It turns out flawless on every single attempt. How are you sourcing your bac water?
