Is it time to switch to Reta?

9 replies6 peopleJun 29, 2026☆ Follow
Summary

Should I switch from tirz to reta or adjust my current dosing after weight loss has stalled?

Users who have been on tirz for months or years with slowed loss describe trying to add reta at low doses while keeping some tirz, or switching fully, with mixed results on whether the combination helps break plateaus. Several report pinning the two on different days and gradually raising reta while lowering tirz, though one person noted conflicting information on whether the shared pathways make stacking worthwhile. Others mention adding cagri instead or simply spacing tirz injections further apart.

Been using tirz for a year now at 12.5 mg, though I reached 15 mg at one point. Did a year on sema before that. Dropped 76 pounds altogether but still need to lose around 30 more. The scale has barely moved lately, maybe half a pound to a pound per month after a four-month stall earlier. Thinking about spacing tirz shots to every five or six days or trying reta instead. Anyone else hit this spot? Slow and steady has worked so far, yet after two full years I would like to finish.

I went ahead and tossed in a small dose of Reta just to check whether it would supply that added lift I wanted.

I started on Tirz last October. Picked up some Reta during a sale and began using it in mid-January. My idea was to taper Tirz down while raising Reta step by step, which I roughly followed with doses moving from 1 mg up to 8 mg every couple of weeks before settling at 5 mg Tirz. I went back to 6 mg because loss was steady, but after stalling for six weeks I am trying 8 mg again. I do Tirz on Friday and Reta on Monday.

I'm heading towards this option, though I've come across mixed details regarding combining these. They target the same routes, which could mean it doesn't add up. On the other hand, I notice many folks do combine them anyway.

Combining both works well for me so far. Outcomes please me and unwanted effects stay low. At present I use 7.5 units of one each Thursday while having raised the other to 2 on Sundays lately. My start involved adding half a unit of the second during seven weeks at five of the first, with some back and forth on increases before focusing solely on raising the second over the past two months.

My situation lines up closely. After hitting 7.5 milligrams with the first compound I brought in the second one rather than pushing the dose higher. These days the schedule runs four milligrams of the newer compound Monday night plus Friday morning, paired with two point five milligrams of the original compound Wednesday night and Sunday morning. The scale keeps moving downward, though a modest bump on the original compound could help. For the time being I'm working on tighter habits with late snacks and evenings out instead. I'll look at the whole setup again after a few weeks.

I'm in much the same spot right now. My current dose of tirz is 12.5 and things have stopped moving forward, though I still have quite a bit left before reaching my target. So I went ahead and got some cagri in hopes it might restart the momentum. I've been administering the tirz on a six-day cycle already.

What's the total time you've spent using tirz?

SharpHarbour92archiveJun 29

I've been taking triz since November. Once my initial delivery of Reta shows up in the next week or so, I'll start combining the two. At the moment I'm using 6 milligrams of triz divided across two injections each week. I'll begin with half a milligram of Reta and increase the dose if it seems necessary.
