Protocol for reducing Tirz and starting Reta?

Summary

How to taper tirzepatide while introducing retatrutide without major disruption

Users describe personal switches from tirz doses around 7.5-15 mg by either gradual reduction paired with slow reta addition or abrupt stops. Most stress waiting several weeks between adjustments because of the drugs' half-lives so steady state can be reached before further changes. Experiences shared include staying at low reta doses like 3 mg after transition and combining lifestyle habits to manage any return of appetite. Some mention combined vials exist but ratios are unclear.

Been on 7.5 tirz and want to bring in reta now. What's a sensible schedule? Something like cutting tirz to 5 at the next injection while starting reta at 1, then dropping tirz further and raising reta the following week?

Because of how long these compounds stay in the system it takes about four injections before a new level settles. That means any adjustment works better on a monthly pace than weekly steps. Trying to math out an exact total dose usually just adds more side effects. The right balance between the two might be 2.5 to 1 or closer to equal parts, no way to predict it ahead of time. Cutting tirz down to 5 and adding 1 then holding that for a full month looks like a safe starting move. After that you can check how it feels and decide whether to add more reta before the next change. That slow process lets you learn your own ratio. Stopping tirz completely and beginning reta at 2 mg for the first month is the faster route some people take instead.

I've come across some products that already combine reta and tirz in the same vial. The exact mix ratios aren't always listed. Checking dose calculators might show whether they have any guidance for those combinations.

I agree with the earlier point. The idea isn't terrible but it's better to hold each new level for several weeks until things level out and you can judge whether the current mix is working before moving to the next amounts.

This is what happened for me though results will differ for others. I had reached my goal after a year on 15 mg tirz and then cut it to 10 mg one week and switched fully to reta the next week starting around 1 or 1.5 mg before settling at 3 mg. I also added a small amount of cagri until late November but stopped that once I dropped another 15 pounds past goal and didn't want further loss. At 3 mg reta I haven't needed to increase even with some light return of appetite because I stay satisfied easily and keep a calorie deficit. Weight has held steady without much worry about food intake.

Curious whether the nonstop thoughts about eating return once the dose gets lowered.

I went with a comparable strategy. The two items share an elimination half-life close to seven days, which meant I halted use suddenly and transferred immediately to reta. This resulted in basically a four week changeover merely from the abrupt cessation.

I was also at 7.5 mg tirz for five weeks when I decided to switch. Mid-week I took my first 2 mg reta dose then lowered the next tirz shot to 5 mg. After four weeks I plan to repeat the same step. By the end I'll be completely off tirz and at 6 mg reta. Tomorrow is my next tirz dose and weigh-in day so we'll see how it goes. Felt great the whole week though.
