Suggestions for adding cagrilintide while on retatrutide

7 replies4 peopleJan 15, 2026☆ Follow
Summary

How should someone add cagrilintide to retatrutide to regain appetite control for binge eating without losing the energy benefits?

The original poster on low-dose retatrutide twice weekly for binge-eating control reports renewed late-night binges and plans to add 0.25 mg cagrilintide per retatrutide dose. One reply recommends switching entirely to tirzepatide for stronger food-noise reduction or using cagrilintide alone at 0.25 mg after stopping retatrutide. Another user shares success adding roughly 0.24 mg cagrilintide mid-week to 3 mg weekly retatrutide, noting reduced food noise and continued weight loss while preserving some hunger for protein intake.

I've been taking retatrutide for a couple months at 1.5 mg twice weekly. The main goal was better control over binge eating and bulimia rather than weight loss, and it worked really well until the past two weeks when the old patterns returned and I stopped feeling satisfied after meals. I still eat enough during the day but end up binging at night anyway. I'm thinking of adding cagrilintide at 0.25 mg alongside each retatrutide dose. Would that be a reasonable starting point or should I try just one dose per week instead? Will it take a few weeks before I notice the difference the way it did with retatrutide?

Retatrutide doesn't handle food noise very effectively. Tirzepatide works much better for that.

I already have some cagrilintide on the way along with the retatrutide. Would it be better to switch completely to tirzepatide instead? If so, how would that transition work? I really value the energy I get from retatrutide and was hoping the cagrilintide would add the extra stopping power on appetite that I'm missing.

Pick one peptide and stick with it. Since you're already on a low dose of retatrutide, you could stop it and start tirzepatide at 2.5 mg. If you want to use the cagrilintide you have, stop the retatrutide and begin cagrilintide at 0.25 mg. Retatrutide can actually increase appetite for some people, which isn't what you're after.

I'm taking 3 mg of retatrutide once a week on Sundays and added 240 mcg of cagrilintide on Wednesdays. The idea was to slow down the retatrutide titration by handling food noise more directly. It has worked pretty well. I still like having a bit of hunger so I can hit 180 g of protein, but I wanted the stronger calorie deficit. I've lost another 3 lb this week after losing 3 lb the week before starting the cagrilintide.
