Women's experiences with peptides for appetite control around PMS

Summary

Which peptides or other options best control hunger during the PMS week for women on GLP-1s?

Users report that retatrutide often loses effectiveness during PMS, leaving them hungry every couple of hours despite dose increases. Stacking cagrilintide with tirzepatide is described as highly effective at eliminating interest in food for some, even during this phase. Others treat the few days as a planned refeed, rely on saffron for mood, or simply accept higher intake without letting it derail overall progress. Cycle length and regularity can shift with weight loss itself, complicating timing.

Retatrutide hardly touches my hunger and I end up wanting food every couple of hours again, even though it was already only marginal on regular weeks. Raising the dose made no difference. Has anyone tested several peptides and noticed one that holds up better during this part of the cycle? Also open to non-peptide ideas such as certain birth control or other approaches. Skip the comments that this is just normal and to accept it; I already know that and still want something to reduce the hunger. Looking at cagri, tirz, servo, and tesa next. Share anything that helped or didn't help you.

Following because I have the exact same question.

Cagri for sure. Stacking it with tirz on the same day made a huge difference for me.

Perimenopause has me on a three to three-and-a-half week cycle. Appetite settles the day after bleeding starts and I drop several pounds quickly from water loss. Then I get one normal week before hunger slowly builds again over the following two-plus weeks until the next bleed. I rarely track so I often wonder why I'm suddenly starving until bleeding begins and it clicks. This pattern happened on tirz and continues on my current reta ramp-up.

Mine seems to have sped up too, though I'm not in perimenopause. Weight loss itself tends to make my cycle irregular so I can't be sure the reta is the cause.

I just treat those days like a refeed, eat a bit more, and stay mindful of whether I'm still hungry or just finishing food out of habit. It only lasts a few days and hasn't slowed my overall loss. Saffron helped the mood side of PMS for me, might be worth trying.

I'm researching what to add to tirz. No period for three months now so I have no cycle data to compare against. I've always been irregular and missed one before starting tirz; the weight loss seems to have stopped it. Cagri or survo are the ones I'm considering.

Currently on my period and the cagri plus tirz stack has left me with zero interest in food. Still losing at the usual rate this week.

How long have you been on cagri and at what dose? Do you only use it during that week?

Same approach here. Appetite is often too low the other three weeks so the short increase doesn't worry me much. Earlier it bothered me because I feared the injections were losing effect and it felt like old uncontrolled eating. After time on these meds I've learned to trust the process and my body more.

About eight weeks on cagri so far, though I skipped two weeks for a short break. The combo with tirz is strong for me; the first few days I can only manage around five hundred calories and sometimes feel lightheaded. Currently at ten milligrams tirz and half a milligram cagri. This will probably be the last week I take it since I've hit my goal. It worked very well for the final stubborn pounds.

PlainMeadow55archiveApr 20

This is my first cycle where I haven't wanted to eat everything and it's because of tirz. Only three injections in so far but the difference is clear. Before, even with calorie counting, this week always derailed me. Now I get why some people stock up in advance.

Thanks, that helps. Might use it just during PMS and the period week as backup, or possibly reta. Those weeks I'm extremely hungry. Could also just raise my tirz dose since I'm only at five to six milligrams and have room to increase.

Interesting. I just started stacking reta instead, maybe cagri would be better.

SharpTimber40archiveApr 22

Nothing helps the first four days or so. I've stopped fighting it and use the time for maintenance practice. We actually need more food during our period and occasional higher intake prevents metabolic adaptation. Cagri or a fiber supplement can take the edge off but won't match normal suppression.

Have you stayed at that half-milligram cagri dose the whole time or started lower? Do you inject both on the same day or on different days?
