Am finally on 3mg Eloranlintide

Summary

What are users' experiences with Eloralintide when tirzepatide stops working or plateaus for weight loss?

Several users describe tirzepatide losing effectiveness after months or a year on it, leading some to try Eloralintide alone or in combination. Others report never responding to tirzepatide or retatrutide from the start and are exploring Eloralintide or other options for food noise reduction. Participants distinguish between true loss of effect and a normal stall after major weight loss, with some continuing low-dose tirzepatide while adding Eloralintide.

Just wanted to share my experience. Starting the first week at 3mg of Eloralintide after planning on 1mg but following the monotherapy trials instead. Keeping tirzepatide as backup but taking a break from it since it appears to have stopped working. Stacking anything else with it feels like heading down a path I want to avoid. Two weeks off tirzepatide and one week into Eloralintide so far. Will check back in if anything worthwhile comes up.

Good that you're trying Eloralintide. Sorry to hear the tirzepatide lost its effect. My doctor got concerned when I mentioned being at 16mg and wanted me back at 15. I agreed on the surface but I'm still feeling it less and less lately.

My doctor doesn't know this either but I'm using reta too. Current approach is 8mg tirz and 8mg reta every four days. Still losing weight though slower now. Also interested in Elora but not rushing into it.

Following along closely. Curious how Elora affects food noise since Reta doesn't suppress it the way Tirz does. I'm only at 4mg for maintenance and wondering if I might need to go higher. How long were you on Tirz before it stopped working? Never considered it becoming ineffective before.

Doubt you'll need to max out in maintenance. If you increase from a low dose it will probably be gradual. I have a strong eating disorder and family history of obesity. Lost 117 pounds last year but progress has slowed with about 20 more to go. If 4mg is working stay there. If not after a couple weeks you might try 5mg and that could hold for a long time.

117 in a year is great. Thanks for the reassurance. I was starting to worry about food noise returning. My weight loss comes directly from my brain no longer demanding those little snack cakes.

Reta just doesn't work for me for some reason. Same with Tirz which faded out slowly. I kept raising the Tirz dose with no results. Going solo on Eloralintide and also adding 10u of Sema since I have some left.

Exactly the same here. If I can ignore those tasty cakes it's working. If I start dipping into the frosting with real craving then it's time to increase the dose.

WryLantern85archiveJul 11

Been on Tirz since July last year. Started at 322 pounds and now hovering around 219 with small daily swings. It gradually became clear that Tirz might not be working anymore which could explain the long plateaus. That's why I'm trying Eloralintide and considering Foundayo next if needed. Not discarding the Tirz yet though.

My birthday arrives in just a couple days and that's occupying all my attention at the moment. I strayed from the subject and want to say I'm sorry for that. Getting back on track, update me regarding the food noise.

That's normal since she's under pressure from anti-Grey messaging and there were many overdoses involving official pens last year. She probably cares. A small dose increase like that isn't a big issue given how half-lives vary.

Reta and Tirz never worked for me even after ten weeks each. Planning to add Cagri to Reta and hoping it cuts food noise. If not I'll look more into Eloralintide. Please keep us updated on your results with it.

I have to wonder what kind of doctor sees a real difference between 15 and 16. They must have taken some math. Maybe she's just protecting herself.

Thanks for sharing. I had the same experience with reta up to 8mg for six months with no benefit and sometimes worse results. Kept going because of family history of diabetes and dementia. Tried cagri up to 2mg with nothing so stopped everything. Have tirz and elora coming but also looking at tesofensine. Curious if other non-responders had success with teso or something else.

I get it especially for a general practitioner rather than an obesity specialist since studies only confirmed 15mg as safe. Still the push to drop from 16 back to 15 should have come with more explanation. Higher dose trials are ongoing and semaglutide was approved at 7.2mg so one extra milligram over 15 really isn't much.

It's been discouraging but hearing from other non-responders helps. Spent a lot on testing thinking the product might be bad but it was just me. Will look into Teso and Elora. Hope you find the right approach soon.

Lost its effect or just stopped losing more weight? Those aren't the same. A stall might just mean equilibrium rather than loss of efficacy. I have some Elora ordered but no firm plan unless my current regimen needs tweaking for the last 20-30 pounds. Might experiment with it once in maintenance.

LevelPebble88archiveJul 11

Yes that's an important distinction. Easy to tell which one: if you're gaining weight fast then it really stopped working. If weight is just stalling then the body has adapted and the drug is still preventing regain. Studies on eloralintide show it can restart loss after a tirz stall. The phase 3 trial is looking at exactly this situation.

AmberSignal66archiveJul 11

Similar story here. Leveled off on 15mg T then tried a 10mg T/5mg R blend with a little movement. Really want to go back to 15mg T plus 2mg Elor to test that combo maybe starting at 12.5/2.

CopperSignal27archiveJul 12

Others have said similar. Down 107 pounds and not gaining means the tirz is still working even if it feels like it stopped. After a year it's normal to hit a true stall where the drug only fights regain. That much loss drops metabolic rate and raises hunger making further deficit harder. Stopping tirz entirely seems like the wrong move.

WryLantern85archiveJul 31

Quick update. Decided to move to 6mg of Elora plus 15mg of brand Tirz. Only three days in but already noticing almost no interest in eating and having to remind myself to eat which seems positive. Using a slightly overfilled 10mg vial with another on the way.

I'd feel like a supermodel at 220 pounds at 6'4". Only three months into tirz and now looking at reta. Will wait for Elora to get cheaper since currently unemployed.

At six four and two hundred seven pounds I really don't picture myself as any kind of model at all. I had aimed for two hundred five at first but shifted the target down to one hundred ninety nine point nine. Reaching that might help me see my physique more kindly.

About ten years ago I got down to 260 and almost had abs. Who knows how things look now at 48.
