The uncertainty for me is knowing exactly when a vial becomes too old to trust. Most places mention about a month as the cutoff. Infection risk does not worry me much because I already handle cuts around bacteria regularly, and I clean surfaces and supplies carefully before each injection. What concerns me more is whether the compound itself loses strength after that point, and I have not found clear data on that.

That matches the approach I had in mind: mix the large vial, divide portions into smaller ones, and freeze them, thawing one as needed. I share the view that sterility is manageable with careful technique, given how often I deal with bacteria in daily life. I also planned to filter during the dividing step. Even so, at my dose the overall cost difference is small enough that the extra steps probably are not worth it. I should have done the yearly math before diving into the freezing question.

An alternative would be to mix the entire large vial with minimal water, move some to another container, and periodically add fresh bacteriostatic water to the original to maintain the preservative level. That keeps puncture counts low and might allow three or four months of use, though simply buying a smaller kit for current needs and saving the large one seems simpler.

This matches what I have done. I have tested mixed samples of several related compounds myself by applying vacuum before freezing at around minus twenty-two degrees in a chest freezer. I limit myself to a single freeze-thaw cycle per portion, and all remained effective. Separate formal tests have also been positive so far.
