I don't remember the exact number but it was around 5 lb the first week. That helped my motivation even though it isn't a reliable measure. I was at my heaviest and eating poorly when I began, then changed my diet completely, started tracking, and added exercise all at once. I view the medication as one extra tool while I do the rest of the work. I kept exercise increases small so I wouldn't quit. Started at 2.5 mg and stayed there for several months with steady loss before raising the dose slowly when progress slowed. Responded well to it while others have different results. Many factors play a role. My clothes fit better now and I feel improved each month. Still aiming for lower body fat but could be content here. Over the long term I've lost 55 lb in about 14 months, averaging just under 1 lb per week.
Curious what others lost in their first week after beginning. Did most start at the usual 2.5 mg or go lower? Was that drop the biggest one? My first week I began at 1 mg because I'm sensitive and lost almost 2 lb after nearly seven days, though I also started my period and caught the flu along with everyone else at home. One thing I noticed is my usual body aches and morning foot pain felt about 80 percent better even while sick. Hoping that improvement lasts. Everyone is different but I'd like to hear how various experiences have gone.
