Reta titration experiences weight loss progress and side effect management

Summary

How do users titrate reta for ongoing weight loss while handling persistent food noise, GI issues, and nutrition needs?

Users report steady loss from 94 kg to 84.5 kg while increasing reta from 1 mg to 2.5 mg, with faster fullness, reduced food noise, and only minor fatigue or one stomach upset prompting a gallbladder check. Others describe starting at 2 mg and going up to 9 mg using slow 0.5 mg steps, electrolytes, and protein focus, while advising against early stacking and cross-checking sources beyond forums. The thread shows dosing must be individualized and that low doses still produce noticeable but incomplete appetite effects.

I'm a 32 year old guy standing 174 cm and tipping the scale at 95 kg for a BMI of 31. I picked up two 5 mg containers from an overseas seller and paid extra for the peace of mind that nothing would get held at the border. Last Sunday around nine in the evening I gave myself a 0.5 mg shot. I headed to bed roughly two hours afterward yet stayed awake the whole night. The next morning I skipped my usual first meal of the day and at lunch left half the serving untouched even though I normally clear the plate in minutes. Dinner played out the same with noticeably less interest in finishing. The following night brought slightly better rest though still not my normal pattern and by then my appetite had returned while the urges for snacks stayed strong. This morning I finally got decent sleep with a little help yet still felt short on total hours. Hunger levels feel unchanged and those cravings continue to bother me. I'm now considering moving up to 1 mg next Sunday.

WryFenwick45archiveJun 10

I never felt any appetite reduction from RETA for months. Added Cagri and that finally helped with hunger. Now five months in I feel the effect from RETA alone at 4 mg. Took weeks to titrate, going up 0.25 mg at a time.

What dose did you start with? And are you still on Cagri?

If cravings are still there I'd go up to 1.5 mg. I began at 0.7 mg but moved up fast and now do 3.5 mg weekly. Sleep is fine, probably because I get up early, hit the gym and do lots of cardio.

WarmCompass44archiveJun 10

Food noise never left me between .5 and 2 mg. I do get full faster and longer, which I prefer. Some people lose all hunger and then miss protein. I still get hungry, eat my protein, feel good and repeat. No need for junk snacks or sugary drinks.

SharpThistle11archiveJun 10

On my third week at 1 mg. Food noise was gone by week two. No big sides week one, but week two brought a bad headache and extreme tiredness two or three days after the Sunday pin. Lots of water and electrolytes fixed it. Planning to go to 1.5 mg on week five.

I get up at 6:30 for work. I know I should exercise more but it will be easier once I drop a few kg. The weight gain killed my motivation and energy. Hoping Reta brings that back.

I still want sweet and salty snacks. Could eat a whole bag of chips and still feel hungry. I'll move to 1 mg with the next shot and see if it changes anything.

NorthThistle12archiveJun 11
↳ replying to @KeenFenwick72

A meal plan might help. I aim for 2,200–2,500 calories daily and make sure protein is covered.

KeenFenwick72archiveJun 11
↳ replying to @NorthThistle12

I've tried lots of meal plans and diets but never stick to them. That's why I started Reta. 2,200 calories is roughly maintenance for me; a decent deficit would be 1,800. I'll try again though. Forcing myself to drink a ton of water before meals so I eat less.

GreenSignal63archiveJun 11

Started at 95 kg and 182 cm, close to you. Began with 0.25 mg to check for sides since it was my first injection ever. Added another 0.25 a few days later so first week totaled 0.5 mg on Sun/Wed. Kept 0.5 mg the next week, then moved to 1 mg on Sunday where I am now. Early sides were skin irritation like pre-workout and slightly blurry eyesight. Learned to keep electrolytes and salts up because it was mostly dehydration. Appetite suppression is hit or miss; I stopped craving sweets, chocolate and beer but still feel hungry sometimes. I like eating and drinking so I'm okay it's not completely gone. Can't eat large amounts in one sitting anymore. Easiest is meal prep on Sunday so portions are ready and I don't have to decide what to eat each day.

CopperSignal27archiveJun 11

Sounds like even the tiny starting doses had some effect. One thing GLP drugs do is make you feel full after less food, and that showed up on day one even if other hunger didn't drop much. You might be fairly sensitive since 0.5 mg is a quarter of the usual 2 mg start. Smaller doses more often can raise the total without as many sides; 0.5 mg twice a week usually feels milder than 1 mg once a week.

KeenFenwick72archiveJun 11
↳ replying to @GreenSignal63

Do you see any benefit to multiple injections per week? Needles have always been hard for me. Luckily my girlfriend is a healthcare assistant and handles the insulin shots. Besides the sleep trouble, which seems to have passed, no other sides so far. 0.5 mg is still low, so once I have more supply I can go to 2 mg a week. Want to start running again but knees and back hurt too much now. Goal is to drop about 10 kg to run, maybe 20 kg total.

KeenFenwick72archiveJun 11
↳ replying to @CopperSignal27

I'll look into splitting doses across the week. One shot a week is already a big step for me though.

SteadyCinder62archiveJun 11

Moved my weekly dose to Friday mornings so I can cut caffeine by noon and have the weekend for sides to ease. Sleep disruption can be real but you adapt over time.

GreenSignal63archiveJun 11
↳ replying to @KeenFenwick72

I pin once a week Sunday evening, but when I raise the dose the week before I'll split it. Right now 1 mg a week gives the effects I want with few sides so staying there.

SteadySparrow75archiveJun 11
↳ replying to @SteadyCinder62

Same here. Started on Sundays but day two and three after the pin are my strongest sides, so switched to Friday mornings.

NorthSparrow68archiveJun 11

Testing my dose at 1 mg now up to 2 mg. Didn't want total appetite suppression, just normal hunger at meal times without cravings all day. Seems to be working. People who chase zero hunger are missing the chance to build discipline and better habits, in my view.

KeenFenwick72archiveJun 11
↳ replying to @NorthSparrow68

That's not what I want. I just want to get through the day without constantly reaching for sweets or chips. I eat when bored, when I feel bad, and even when I feel good. Tried keto, soup diets, tracking with MFP but never stick to any of them. I know I need discipline and a better relationship with food but can't rely on willpower alone.

AmberTimber37archiveJun 11

Advise starting at the standard dose. Reta has a six-day half life and while a micro-dose can give some effect it doesn't build up the same way. Studies show everyone starts at 2 mg and moves to 4 mg after a month for a reason. Anything less leaves a deficit from clearance. If you micro-dose, still total 2 mg per week. You'll see lower peaks and there's no clinical benefit to constant small injections. Weight loss happens at the proper dose. Extra injection-site infection risk and vial contamination from many pins is reason enough to avoid it.

BlueMeadow35archiveJun 11
↳ replying to @AmberTimber37

I hear you, but starting at 0.5 mg felt necessary because of my history of extreme sensitivity to meds. Still added another 0.5 mg the next day once no major sides showed up. Didn't feel like I wasted product and started with a 12 mg vial just in case. A few weeks later I took my first 2 mg dose and am looking forward to the effects.

AmberCinder46archiveJun 11
↳ replying to @KeenFenwick72

Feels more stable and keeps sides minimal. No appetite surges on day six. For me it's Monday evening and Friday morning for 4 mg plus 4 mg.

KeenFenwick72archiveJun 11
↳ replying to @AmberCinder46

Might do the same once I reach that dose. Also looking into the wolverine stack so multiple pins could add up.

AmberCinder46archiveJun 11
↳ replying to @KeenFenwick72

Exactly what I thought nine months ago. Now tomorrow lines up for three injections in the morning and four before bed. Friday night so meeting friends; none of the night ones need a fasted state so at 3 a.m. those four pins will be interesting.

KeenFenwick72archiveJun 11

Probably nothing registers at all 😂 Still hoping the accurate spot ends up hit.

BlueKettle52archiveJun 11

Give it time, you just started. Takes three to four weeks to build up, then the effects really show. Been on it nine weeks, started at 1 mg and haven't gone up. Effects keep getting stronger each week with more gastric slowing and less hunger. Appetite and food noise dropped within days of the first 1 mg shot and kept getting stronger. Satiety signaling improved too. Recently added Cagri and it's like a sledgehammer; no hunger or cravings at all. Just give it time and you'll get the effects without needing to titrate further; that can become your maintenance dose while still losing weight.

KeenKettle50archiveJun 11

Only started feeling appetite suppression after titrating to 10 mg and beyond.

KeenFenwick72archiveJun 12
↳ replying to @KeenKettle50

Damn, hope I won't need that high. Not sure if I would go there.

KeenFenwick72archiveJun 12

Been looking into Cagri too but don't want to overdo it. Once I finish my current supply I might order a few more things I've been checking out.

PatientPebble79archiveJun 12
↳ replying to @KeenFenwick72 (opening post)

Doubt you'll get better appetite suppression just by raising reta. Could you try adding some tirz instead?

KeenFenwick72archiveJun 12
↳ replying to @PatientPebble79

Could, but tirz already shares some mechanisms with reta. How would it work better or am I missing something? Also been looking at Cagri for hunger control.

PatientPebble79archiveJun 12
↳ replying to @KeenFenwick72

From reading lots of comments, tirz seems to give stronger appetite suppression than reta, especially if you want to keep reta low. Using two or three receptors together helps more, plus you still get the glucagon benefits from reta. I lean toward tirz over Cagri because it feels less extreme and has more research behind it. Might even find tirz covers everything you need and it's cheaper. Since this is your first GLP-1 you may or may not respond to low doses; it's unpredictable. Good luck.

KeenFenwick72archiveJun 12
↳ replying to @PatientPebble79

Reading lots of views both here and elsewhere. Hard to tell what's accurate with so much info out there. Never taken anything like peptides or weight-loss drugs before, though metformin made me sick so I stopped after a few days. Wanted to be careful dosing something that relies on internet info.

PatientPebble79archiveJun 12
↳ replying to @KeenFenwick72

Given that, a well-researched option with lower risk like tirz might be safer if the supply is pure. The data comes from actual studies, not just forums. Not pushing tirz for commission, just trying to steer toward lower-risk choices. Jumping straight to reta isn't that, and adding Cagri even less so. Reta is the strongest GLP-1 easily available and many save it for when tirz stops working. Bodybuilders with experience do well on it but probably not the first choice for someone new to these drugs.

KeenFenwick72archiveJun 12
↳ replying to @PatientPebble79

Understand. I'll probably finish the vials I already bought and see how far they take me. Hold off on Cagri if risks outweigh benefits and maybe consider stacking tirz while keeping reta low. My girlfriend used Mounjaro but didn't see huge results; weight loss stalled after the first week, probably just water weight. That's partly why I went for reta.

BlueKettle52archiveJun 12
↳ replying to @KeenFenwick72

Yeah, don't want to overdo Cagri because it's very strong on both main effects and sides. If you stack reta and Cagri you'll feel full all day and bowel movements slow way down, which keeps you satiated. Start small; I began at 266 micrograms and felt slightly fatigued the next day. Injected twice now and effects are still strong. Probably won't need to go higher and can stay on this maintenance level, but time will tell.

CopperSignal27archiveJun 13

Disagree with anyone suggesting extra peptides on top of a tiny reta dose. Until you've been on it a few months and reached at least 4 mg (unless low doses already work well for you), you won't know how it controls appetite or what sides appear. Claims that reta has less appetite suppression than tirz may be true but the gap is small; reta produces more weight loss overall so it can't be causing much less appetite reduction even with the extra energy burn from glucagon. Reta is currently the strongest GLP for weight loss, so give it a proper trial at adequate doses before adding anything. At current low doses it shouldn't suppress appetite much anyway, so doses will need to rise. Adding more peptides now is premature.

KeenFenwick72archiveJun 13
↳ replying to @CopperSignal27

Thanks. Not massively overweight but want to lose at least 10 kg, up to 20 kg. Currently 94 kg at 174 cm after starting at BMI 31. Doesn't wreck daily life but kills motivation and energy. As said earlier I'll finish the vials I have and raised the dose to 1 mg today. Only had the sleep side effect so far so now pinning before the weekend to protect work days.

KeenFenwick72archiveJun 14

Update: 94 kg. Pinned 1 mg yesterday around 11 a.m. Sleep was much better, probably because it was morning. Did an 8 km walk in the afternoon with no sides. Hunger and cravings a bit lower but still present. After dinner felt full all evening so wasn't tempted to snack before bed.

LevelBeacon32archiveJun 14
↳ replying to @KeenFenwick72 (opening post)

Stick with reta once a week or every five days, splitting the dose is fine too, and raise it by half a mg each time the food noise returns. I'm sitting at 2 mg weekly and it suits me well. Everyone ends up needing their own amount, some manage on 0.5 while others go all the way to 8 mg. You'll sort it out.

KeenFenwick72archiveJun 17

Update: weighed in at 92.3 kg this morning.

PlainAlder11archiveJun 17
↳ replying to @SteadyCinder62

I've pinned on Fridays from the beginning except one Monday when we were away. Same pattern, effects hit the next day mostly. Started at 2 mg as I always suggest and have climbed to 9 mg, just took the fifth shot at 8 mg. Side effects are minimal now. Down 50 lb in five months.

As someone new to peptides it's tough to tell solid advice from the rest. I always research everything I buy or try, yet sometimes that extra checking just complicates things.
