At 49 my stats moved from 227 lbs to 143 lbs for an 84-pound drop. Dexa body fat went from roughly 37 percent down to 12 percent. BMI fell from 35.6 to 22.6. Waist shrank from 40 inches to 30 inches, so pants went from size 38 to 28 and shirts from XL to S or XS. Blood pressure improved from 155 over 90 to about 110 over 65 and I no longer need the medication. Resting heart rate dropped from 87 to around 50. Dexa biological age estimate went from 52 to 36. VO2 max reached 52, which is the 97th percentile for my age. Plenty of other lifestyle adjustments are still in progress, but the direction feels good. I am back at the weight I carried in high school. Current dose is 10 mg of Tirzepatide. Cardio includes structured Peloton power-zone rides plus some recent running, three or four days a week. Strength work is all bodyweight moves done in high volume throughout the day with no fixed schedule since I work from home. Yoga covers mobility.
10 months before ➡️ after (Tirzepatide)
What results are possible after 10 months on Tirzepatide plus exercise and lifestyle shifts?
One user shared dramatic before-and-after stats after losing 84 pounds on Tirzepatide while doing Peloton cardio, bodyweight strength work, and yoga. Health markers improved sharply, including normalized blood pressure and a much younger biological age estimate. Replies were uniformly congratulatory, with the original poster clarifying the approach stayed natural, relied on whole foods, and aimed at sustainability rather than extreme effort.
What this discussion establishes- Tirzepatide at 10 mg paired with consistent cardio and calisthenics produced an 84 lb drop and major body-composition change
- Blood pressure, resting heart rate, and DEXA age estimate all moved into healthy ranges without other drugs
- Workouts stayed simple: Peloton power-zone sessions, high-volume bodyweight moves done throughout the day, and yoga
- Diet stayed uncomplicated with whole foods and protein focus; calories were not tracked
- Previous weight-loss attempts had failed due to rebound, but this round feels more maintainable
- Future plans include slight dose reduction, a 10% body-fat target, and adding BJJ
How well the results hold once the dose is lowered or stopped
Nothing here is advice.
That is wild. Share the full breakdown when you can, including any compounds, macro breakdown, training split, and the rest. Really impressive work.
Strong results. Was anything else involved or was it all natural methods?
Appreciate it. I added the breakdown below. Nothing else was used. I kept everything fairly basic. Muscle memory from earlier heavy training years helped a lot.
All natural here. Thanks.
You look like a completely different person. The bodyweight-only training results are especially cool because I do not want a gym membership or home setup either. Really motivating.
Always good to see someone looking strong while sticking with bodyweight training. Well done and hope things keep improving.
That is a real transformation. You should feel proud. You look ready for marathon distance. I still have 43 pounds left on my own path. Started at 249, now at 198, aiming for 155.
You are doing amazing. I have been stuck lately and came looking for ideas. Your results are motivating. Congratulations on the change.
Late to comment but this is genuinely impressive. The discipline required is clear and the health numbers moved in a big way too. Well done.
What does your typical eating look like day to day?
You do not even resemble the same person and you look years younger. Outstanding work.
Nothing fancy. I skip calorie tracking and mostly eat whole foods with protein as the focus.
That VO2 max number stands out. I have improved in other areas but mine has stayed flat. Do you know what it was before and did you do anything specific to raise it?
That is crazy. Well done. You must feel a lot healthier. How has holding the weight been going, or are you still in a cut phase?
Holding steady has gone okay. Still on the 10 mg dose but I will probably lower it a bit in a month or so. I turn 50 soon and want to reach 10 percent body fat as a goal. Planning a Dexa scan on my birthday. Current focus is adding a little muscle while trimming a bit more fat, mostly small tweaks. Starting BJJ soon as well.
I have heard good things about BJJ from people I work with. It helps fitness without being too rough on the body. Good luck with it.
That is awesome, congratulations. How tall are you? I have been doing rucking for cardio but spent time on power zone rides too and they are my favorite Peloton format.
Five foot seven. Wilpers is solid. I prefer Denis Morton but those two are my top choices.
You should feel proud. The numbers are wild. A detailed workout breakdown would be interesting if you have time.
Quick version: a few years back I got into shape and lost the same amount of weight but gained it all again. During that period my VO2 max got very high from daily hour-long Peloton rides and hit 59 at its peak. I am competitive and race on the leaderboard, so sessions were intense. After regaining the weight the number probably dropped but I never retested. Now at 52 it is still good but not at the old level. The goal this time is something I can keep doing without burning out, plus more emphasis on strength for better overall shape and health. Holding both a very high VO2 max and good strength at the same time is tough, so I am trying to balance them.
Cardio is three or four Peloton power zone sessions a week lasting 30 to 60 minutes. Because I race the leaderboard the efforts are demanding. Two focus on zones two and three while one is more max effort like intervals. Strength is mostly greasing-the-groove style bodyweight work done at home: small sets of pull-ups and chin-ups spread through the day, nightly decline push-ups, hanging leg raises, lateral raises, and Bulgarian split squats. Yoga handles flexibility. I do have a solid muscle base from earlier years when I was in much better shape.
This was the earlier check-in around five months: down 67 pounds on Tirzepatide. The medication has been very effective. Blood pressure settled at about 115 over 75 after previously sitting near 135 over 90. Snoring stopped completely. Resting heart rate is now in the high 40s. I have lost this weight multiple times before only to regain it. This time it finally feels like it can last. About 10 more pounds to reach the goal.
