I'd be curious to check out any photos from someone's personal workout space if they have one set up. I'm also wondering about ways to add better temperature protection on the garage entry so the inside stays comfortable through the hot months. What got you going on putting together your own fitness area in the first place? For me the idea came from putting in long shifts six days a week with the nearest facility a fair drive away and having a couple of kids around middle school age back then. I didn't want to spend extra hours apart from the family just to get some exercise in. My boy and his buddies end up there quite often when school is out but the warmth during afternoons makes it tough so they tend to head in after dark while we're trying to rest. lol.

My setup packs a ton of gear into this tight room. Two square frames three feet across sit side by side, one built for basic lifts while the other works as a cable station. Dumbbells stop at fifty pounds, with extra plates on hand for bigger loads. A back-extension device sits nearby, along with a stepper and a treadmill that didn't make it into the shot. I'm looking to add a leg-curl piece but plan to hold off until a joint release drops later in the year. The wife's dance pole shows up in the photo as well.

And here is my 4 year old's set up.

We've installed an extra cooling system on its own.

Put in one of those ductless units myself and they turned out really impressive while saving money overall. Setup was straightforward, not pricey either, plus they run with top efficiency and I switch them on only when necessary.

I'm curious to get a look at the station for pinning that's for the child aged four!

I'm keeping an eye on the thread. Right now I'm putting together my own version. In roughly three weeks I'll share an update here. If everything lines up.

When starting it up does getting down to temperature take much time or is the setting left unchanged around the clock?

My unit sits in the workspace upstairs right between those two attic spaces. I can drop the temperature to 65 within half an hour whenever I feel like it. There's also a moisture removal option that pulls dampness from the air while it cools. This thing handles the intense summer conditions around here extremely well. Keeping it running all the time stays inexpensive too.

My workout area at home stays basic with just some adjustable dumbbells and a cardio machine for stepping. All of it sits out in the garage space. Without any temperature regulation there, during these recent warm spells over a hundred degrees I exercise first thing when the sun comes up, using a couple of fans positioned to blow air my way from both sides. When winter hits I shut the overhead door tight, throw on some loose pants and a knit hat. On top of that I take the dog out for a stroll covering around two miles most days.

From the images your door seems to have more insulation compared to what I have. I got some shiny bubble material meant for reflecting heat and gave it a shot. That made things better yet the space still overheats easily. Thinking about taking out the door entirely and putting up a proper insulated barrier instead. Haha. I want either a machine for cardio or a cycle but can't pick which so I'm checking secondhand listings first instead of getting a fresh one.

I'd love to install a separate cooling system in the garage space, yet my frugality always holds me back. Snagged an elliptical trainer through a local listing at a low cost and grabbed a set of weights during a seasonal promotion that listed it below the standard amount.

I call it "Planet Fatness"

My compact underground lifting area has all the gear I require such as the rack for squats, a bench, pulley systems, loose plates, hand weights and my pair of training buddies.

Totally agree. It feels just like those pastime discussions featuring common play items lots of people own.

My compact training area inside the garage suddenly seems inadequate... sigh

When you connect that drink dispenser to power it functions essentially as a three hundred watt heat source. Devices like these consume an excessive quantity of electricity while their cooling components release the warmth directly into the surrounding area. The identical situation applies to small refrigerators. Any cooled item lacking sufficient thermal protection will operate nonstop in an effort to achieve the desired temperature.

Haha. This gadget has zero power link. Considered attaching the cord while keeping that opening exposed.

Guess poverty has claimed me for good so I'm heading off to the other place instead.

With that kind of setup there's a ton you can pull off. Check some videos on YouTube and get started yo!
