After capping them I usually put them in a protein bottle since those seem thick enough. Might tape the lid or switch to a detergent bottle for more room.
Some places still handle waste by hand.

We have three spots that accept everything. You drop off a sealed container and get a new one. Where is this place you mentioned?
I could probably call the waste company but it's not worth it with such a big container. At two syringes a week it will take forever to fill.
I used to do the same until I learned better. Now I use a proper container or a coffee can or protein tub, tape and label it when full, then drop it off. Smaller containers are easier to fit into a routine.
Try searching 'comeback' with titles only. The full thread is worth reading if you haven't seen it.
You can get a small one, quart size.
Good to know. We have a local biohazard drop at the fire department so I'm happy using that. The free service was also great when I used it.
That's a good service for the community.
Here in Canada any pharmacy will give you free containers.
I don't know what made you so bitter, but your take on my personality is just your opinion. You don't know me beyond a few lines. Have a good day.
If that's the case it was a very indirect question. Are you really asking whether it's okay to treat medical waste like regular trash? A capped syringe in the bin isn't safe; it just means you're not concerned about someone getting stuck. Proper containers are needed to avoid that risk.
Pickle jars. I started eating them because of the nausea and now the empties are perfect for needles. Works out nicely.
Efficient setup. Just note that glass can break and leave the needles exposed. Plastic holds up better in the waste stream and protects workers and animals more. Even though I dislike plastic, it's safer here.
I meant the large plastic kimchi jars actually, so we're fine. I hadn't thought about the glass issue though, so thanks for pointing that out.
As a straight woman who's not single, I've fallen for so many of the women in this thread 😍 💐🌻💞💕 You absolute goddesses 🫠
Lots of amazing ladies take part in this scene. Being overweight has that rare upside of pushing you toward a balanced and tough character since otherwise folks just look right past you. The whole pursuit ends up full of delightful women too.
Seeing those words left me feeling deeply upset. It's unfair when someone ends up noticed or ignored solely on account of their body size. Even so I realize that's just the way things tend to go.
This really bums me out. 😔 Ladies are fantastic for the most part, but I notice pep land seems to attract lots of them.
Appreciate the reply. Right now I'm busy rearranging letters in fresh combinations. That seller from China remains active and it surprises me how rarely anyone mentions them. It has been the sole one based there that I've ordered from since it matched every standard I set before dealing with any seller. I would keep getting items if they added support for the requested currency transfer.
Yeah I noticed it along with when it first appeared. Planning to look through that later once back at my place. Much appreciated.
Got a strategy in mind for dealing with this guy whenever he posts again. Checking when he signed up shows he's one of those arrogant beginners. Even his profile picture gets on my nerves. Going over what he's written before, it's all the same stuff. I've figured out how I'm going to handle it.
They're probably just in a sour mood most of the time. Still, folks tell me they're actually pleasant and entertaining.
True enough. Strong views are common around these parts and certain individuals become offended quite quickly. It is what it is.
I pack those items straight into a used container, seal the lid tight, and discard the whole thing once it's packed to the top.
Absolutely. Everyone should understand the process for dealing with waste in their area. My knowledge comes from numerous visits to the disposal site. I'm relieved that the sanitation crew doesn't manually load the containers onto the vehicle. Temperatures reach 110 degrees in this location. The primary danger from needles arises from wild animals overturning the container and scattering contents. This occurred just a single time. They appear fond of spuds. 😒
I'm not upset or anything. I like to joke with folks whenever something grabs my attention. For a newcomer you're pretty decent.
I find my leftover protein tubs and those preworkout bottles do the job nicely. Throwing them away empty seems pointless to me.
You're better off not stuck with that constant unfriendly expression thing. Extra pounds might come off eventually, yet this problem sticks around forever. 🤣🤣
Actually it's reversed in my case because my looks end up attracting strangers who want to chat 😵💫
Honestly, that gadget ends up being helpful from time to time.
My granddaughter appeared with an angry expression that brings me real joy. Even at seven she keeps holding onto that same kind of attitude.
That keyword about the dish made us instant friends. It's cool my pointless facts ended up being handy after all.
I personalty use my empty bottles of that zero sugar punch. mmmmmmmmm..... I get them from the store.
Noticing risky actions doesn't offend anyone at all. Your protective response however highlights the inconsistency.
I've found myself telling others more than a couple times that I might seem all soft and cuddly on the outside, but really I'm all edges and spikes.
People keep saying my appearance makes me seem really devout, so I just offer a friendly grin in return. I skip the explanations, but I don't hold any spiritual beliefs myself.
That's surprising. You come across as friendly and mellow.
Doesn't seem ideal. Sharps containers cost little to start with yet free ones are available without doubt. My needles along with wipes and disposal units come at no charge from the area exchange program. Public health services operate it mostly for people using street substances though I simply request the items on visits.
I don't know if others shared this idea, so here's what works for me: a big tub from laundry pods. I cover the outside with strips of tape and mark the container sharps excluding needles. Then I secure the lids on each side and snip the points from the needles using a cutter made for that.
Many big cannisters that you buy food from big stores can be used. My partner saves me big containers of coffee. I duct tape the top.
I feel it's unpleasant to discard my used needles straight into the garbage. Instead I place them inside a sealed plastic tub first. I'm unsure about the exact regulations here in the Netherlands but I really dislike the stares I get at the drugstore whenever I drop off those full sharps boxes frequently. So I got myself this device that clips off the needles. That way the remaining part of the syringe goes into regular waste. It manages to contain more than fifteen hundred tips.
Wow, lots of useful suggestions in this thread. I'm grateful for the real tips on refining my approach. From now on, I won't be discarding any more needles. It didn't cross my mind before that the cover might detach, but now I understand the issue. I've gotten a cutter tool and am relying on a solid container for now. Thanks!
I am, but my face says otherwise. 🤣
I saw an item listed as sharps with none of the needles. So what counts as the sharp part when needles are left out?
Maybe relax instead, slip into some sexy outfit then wander over to cook a peach dessert just for me. That would probably lift your spirits.
