Reta, is it working?

Summary

how do you know if retatrutide is actually suppressing appetite and working for weight loss

Users report mixed results at 4-7 mg weekly; some notice gradual smaller meals while others see side effects but little hunger reduction or scale movement. Appetite effects vary widely and often build slowly, with some needing to add another GLP or increase activity to see progress. Weight loss is not guaranteed even when calories drop, and individual responses differ enough that no single sign confirms effectiveness.

whether reta requires more dietary discipline than tirz or sema because it does not fully crush appetite

Not convinced retatrutide is doing anything for me yet. I've gone up to 7 mg weekly since smaller amounts didn't seem to change anything. These days a couple pieces of bread, salami, and a pear fills me up. Is that a sign it's working? Curious what portion sizes others manage on this.

How long have you been taking it? Has your hunger gone down since you began? Any weight change? Has your resting heart rate shifted? Was the batch properly tested? No one here can say for sure if it's working because responses vary so much from person to person.

For another data point, I've been on 4 mg for nearly a month and sticking to a diet still feels hard. Side effects like sensitive skin, trouble sleeping, anxiety, and a fast heartbeat make me think the product is genuine, yet appetite control stays weak. Jealous of those who say even 2 mg wipes out all thoughts of food so they have to remind themselves to eat. Planning to raise the dose and see what happens next. I also have some other vials on hand as backup. Right now 1200 kcal feels fine but the scale hasn't budged in three weeks at 170 pounds, which can't be my new maintenance level. My hopes were high from reading other accounts online and this struggle wasn't what I pictured. Never seen anyone mention stalling this early.

Makes sense why you're questioning it. Many expect an immediate big shift, yet for lots of people the change comes on more slowly. Being content with a modest meal already hints that something is shifting, even if it feels subtle. These compounds tend to work gradually and not everyone gets an intense full feeling right away. Early clues can be modest drops in how much you want or how much you finish. Checking with others is a smart move. Plenty of people are in the same spot and slow progress is still progress.

Reta doesn't wipe out hunger or make food seem repulsive the way tirz and sema often do, so it calls for more self-control with meals. If hunger remains an issue, check A1C and fasting glucose; if those aren't on the low end of normal, adding tirz at 5-7.5 weekly alongside it can help.

Another part of using reta is adding some movement. Start slow with walking, swimming, or any activity you like, even a couple times a week. Later you can add resistance work to build a bit more muscle, which raises resting calorie burn. Focus on fruit, vegetables, fiber, and protein. These meds seem to support better food choices and more attention to both what you eat and how active you are. Good luck.

Have you thought about trying tirzepatide instead? From what I've seen and heard from others who used reta, it tends to bring more side effects.

NorthCinder50archiveMar 31

I came from tirzepatide at a steady 4 mg average for maintenance and wanted to test reta. Started one 10 mg vial at 2.5 mg while keeping tirz at 2.5 mg too. Hunger returned strongly so I went above 1500 kcal while reverse dieting, yet weight still dropped. Not thrilled since I'm already quite lean at 41, 174 cm, and just 53 kg, but reta clearly raised calorie burn in my case.

Thanks for the idea. I'm already considering a switch to tirz. I'll stick with reta a bit longer since I do notice I'm eating less even if the scale stays put, plus I still have the rest of what I bought on hand.

What does the scale show, and how long have you been using it like the earlier questions asked?

SteadyCinder62archiveMar 31

Would need the full background on your situation to give a useful view. Sounds like hunger has eased though. What do the scale and measurements show? One thing I've found is that pairing this with resistance work, cardio, or any consistent exercise routine makes a real difference.
