What’s your "sweet spot" for fluid volume per injection?

32 replies23 peopleJul 25, 2026☆ Follow
Summary

What injection volume per dose feels best for peptides and similar compounds, and does changing concentration or total fluid make any difference?

Forum users mostly settle on 0.1–0.4 mL per subcutaneous shot because it feels comfortable and fits common syringes. Some go higher (up to 2 mL) without issue, while others note that bigger volumes raise the chance of bruising or lumps that fade once absorbed. People often pick a concentration that lets them draw 10 units per mg or stay inside their preferred syringe size, but no one reports a clear biological edge from extra dilution.

What liquid amount do you usually shoot for each time, and what feels like the best balance? Right now I use 0.25 mL per shot. I keep wondering if spreading the same amount into more fluid would help absorption or if it changes nothing. At the same time I wonder if extra liquid just stretches the skin and adds soreness, or if some people actually like having a bit more volume. How do you weigh concentration against the total fluid you end up injecting?

PatientMeadow76archiveJul 25

I usually land between 0.2 and 0.3 ml because that matches the split doses I already know from the pens that hold 0.6 ml total. Going a little higher is fine if you want more liquid, but it really comes down to what each person tolerates. You won’t know until you test it yourself. Bigger volumes do raise the odds of bruising or a lump that slowly disappears as the substance absorbs. Quite a few people run larger amounts, especially with certain compounds.

BrightCompass57archiveJul 25

Under the skin I rarely push past 0.4 ml. Into muscle, anything 3.25 ml or under works okay.

WarmAnchor55archiveJul 25

I like 20–30 units, so 0.2–0.3 ml. For one particular compound I double that volume to cut down on the sting. It’s all personal choice in the end.

LevelAlder29archiveJul 25

I’ve gone from 0.22 ml up to 0.65 ml with the same compound. I prefer keeping it under 0.4 ml because the syringe feels easier to handle. When I mix my own I aim for 0.15–0.20 ml so I can finish off the 30-unit syringes and avoid extra cartridges. This is the only one I still draw from a vial instead of a pen.

LevelThistle44archiveJul 25

I try to stay under 0.3 ml because that matches the syringes I have the most of and the volume never feels uncomfortable. I also do a 2 ml shot once a week under the skin and that feels fine too.

I always set the mix so each milligram comes out to 10 units.

PlainAnchor67archiveJul 25

For most peptides I keep it between 0.1 and 0.2 ml. The exact amount doesn’t seem to matter much. I just like the 0.3 ml syringes because the markings are easier for me to read.

Good to hear that, because I have some 10-unit pins and was worried they were too small. Nice to know it’s normal.

If it helps, my dose for the other compound is only 0.05 ml, or 5 units.

That ratio makes the math simple, but what amount are you actually using right now? At higher doses like 10 mg or 15 mg you’d be looking at 1.0–1.5 ml. Do you split those into two sites or just do the whole thing in one spot?

SteadySparrow75archiveJul 25

0.1–0.2 ml covers most peptides for me. My current vial is 10 mg per ml and I’m doing 0.5 ml twice a week, which works fine so far.

LevelThistle44archiveJul 25

I’d only use that strength if something else forced the choice. I already do a single 2 ml shot under the skin every week and it doesn’t bother me.

It depends on the compound. Right now one of mine is 30 mg per ml so I draw 1 ml and split it for a 15 mg dose. With another I used 1 ml shots. For the hcg I reconstitute 5000 iu into 5 ml so the math stays simple and I end up with 0.25 ml for 250 iu.

I misread that at first and thought it was 1 mg per 0.1 ml. Now it makes sense, thanks for clearing it up.

ClearLantern70archiveJul 25

Because I use several compounds I mix most of them so each dose is exactly 10 units. That way I can pull multiple syringes at once without double-checking the numbers. A couple things like nad+ don’t work that way.

QuietCinder66archiveAug 24

I administered my second injection using just 0.03 ml. That lines up with the low 1.25 mg amount. I set the strength at 40 mg per ml. It uses less solution overall and the compound went into solution fast with no apparent issues. Getting the final bit out might be tricky though. For the next batch I'm considering splitting into two 0.04 mg shots weekly since I don't want to drop weight and the hunger reduction has been quite noticeable already.

WarmSparrow60archiveAug 24

I go with 2 mL for most things. Less liquid works better and cuts down on lumps. With the T60 at 2 mL I get 15 mg in 0.50 units. I really like the T68s myself.

BrightCompass57archiveAug 24

I've gone up to 3.25 cc with no trouble when doing it intramuscular. For sub q it doesn't seem to matter since the 1 cc syringes never even get filled all the way.

WrySparrow43archiveAug 24

I stick to around 0.3 ml at most.

PlainAlder11archiveAug 24

I picked up a box of 100 of those 31 g 8 mm ones the other day. They feel sharp and nice. I tried injecting 2-24 u of R to test them out. The barrel is really thin compared to the .5 and 1 ml versions. They'll mostly be for my wife's AHK-Cu at 2 u then 4 u.

LevelThistle44archiveAug 24
↳ replying to @PlainAlder11

Yep the thin barrel helps with accurate measuring since they have .005 ml /.5 unit marks.

SteadySignal69archiveAug 24

I use anywhere from 10 to 50 units. Under 10 units gets hard to measure and some pens don't push well on sticky carts below that. Over 50 units it's just a lot of liquid that can cause a lump or leak out. The 20-30 range feels like the best balance for accuracy without too much volume. If something is really concentrated I might dilute it more.

KeenThistle61archiveAug 24

I like staying in the 10-20 unit range. That keeps dosing accurate compared to trying something like 1 unit where a tiny bubble or fraction could throw it off.

QuietCinder66archiveAug 24
↳ replying to @KeenThistle61

With good vision and careful technique using the edge of the line thickness while getting rid of bubbles you can still hit very accurate low volumes. I don't think anyone here is using less volume than me for tirz. I use 0.3 ml easy-touch syringes.

WarmCompass44archiveAug 24

For anything sub q I keep it within 50 units. The only thing I go over that with is glutathione and I do that IM.

GreyLedger65archiveAug 25

My usual concentrations stay in the 10 to 50 unit range. Glutathione stands out as the sole item I dilute beyond that level. I prepare it at 400 milligrams per milliliter since the powder integrates more smoothly at that strength. This results in 62.5 units when I measure out a 250 milligram portion.

WryHarbour43archiveSep 8
↳ replying to @SteadySignal69

Exactly. Tirz is my biggest dose at 50 units. Everything else lands in the 10-15 unit range. I don't usually get pain or leakage no matter the volume but I have had mild discomfort a few times with anything over 50 units. This varies person to person. I'm a larger person with plenty of padded spots and I seem to avoid ISRs even with compounds others call spicy.

ClearQuill84archiveSep 8

Anything from 0.1 ml up to 1 ml works fine for me. When I can I aim for a 10 mg per 1 ml solution.

SteadySparrow75archiveSep 8
↳ replying to @ClearQuill84

Most of my recons are at 10 mg per ml. For tirz I go up to 15 mg per ml. The KLOW blends each need their own math per ingredient.

PatientWillow63archiveSep 12

I'm on 10 mg but the solution I received was 40 mg in 4 ml so I end up injecting 1 ml each week. The main thing is to push it in slowly. No problems at all with 1 ml shots.

SteadyLedger49archiveSep 13

For Lipo-C and NAD+ I fill the syringe a bit past the 100 unit mark. For the low volume ones like 5-amino, AOD, KPV, VIP, BPC and TB I combine them all in one syringe and do the whole thing at once, usually around 70 or 80 units total.
