Decided to split dose. What's your experience been?

Summary

experiences splitting tirzepatide doses instead of weekly to manage side effects

Users who split their dose report fewer peak-related side effects like headaches, nausea, fatigue and tinnitus compared to a single weekly injection. The lower peak and higher steady-state level reduces the on-off feeling and can maintain better appetite control without needing a higher total dose. Several people note it feels more consistent day to day and allows them to stay on the same weekly total with fewer bad days.

I was on 7.5 mg but after twenty-four hours when it peaked I would get bad headaches and sore legs along with tinnitus and prickly skin. Someone here suggested splitting so last night I took 3.75 mg and plan to take the other 3.75 mg on Wednesday. Has anyone else split their dosing? Was it different from weekly and if so how? I have not felt food suppression yet but I am guessing it will build with more split doses.

I split specifically to avoid the headaches I would get the day after injecting. You can use the GLP1 plotter to enter doses and see how concentration builds and how the max-to-min difference compares with once-weekly. Splitting lowers the peak a bit but raises the minimum a lot so I do not get food noise returning unless I need to increase the dose.

Ah that sounds good. I have been looking at the plotter.

There are several things to understand about splitting. The graph shows the total amount possible in blood is lower which can reduce side effects. The baseline at steady state is also higher so the pulse is reduced as if you were keeping your finger on the doorbell. Some posts from people whose effects faded after a few months were often splitters. You can round to 4 mg if it makes vial math easier. It does not need to be that precise because receptor affinities and half-lives vary between people.

I split because a full weekly dose gives me really bad nausea that makes it hard to function. I dose about every 3.5 days and have had no side effects since. It has been a game changer.

Really appreciate the detailed reply. Lots of great information. Yeah the pulse evens out and becomes more linear I suppose.

The main gain I've seen is feeling much less worn out. I keep doses three and a half days apart, for instance from Sunday morning until Wednesday evening.

I was splitting into three doses for about the first year on Tirz. I started changing it the last few months to work in other things as needed.

I inject 4 milligrams each Friday morning along with 3.5 milligrams every Monday morning. Nothing major shows up as unwanted effects. A little burping shows up plus a mild warm sensation in my head the next day after dosing. That tells me the amount feels right for me. The Friday shot carries me across the weekend with hardly any thoughts about eating. The Monday shot keeps things steady the rest of the week. It has held up fine until now.

This is what I am hoping for too. At the moment day two I feel horrible and it basically becomes a day I cannot work or do anything. Hoping split dosing makes me feel better.

Ah I am hoping this works for me too. I find I am struggling with hunger massively after a few days on a weekly dose.

Just a quick update. I did my first split. Took 3.75 mg Sunday evening the 20th and again 3.75 mg Wednesday evening the 24th. Side effects are down massively. Did not get the usual headaches from 7.5 mg and much less fatigue. Tinnitus was not as bad either. Hunger suppression seems similar or better. Normally by day four or five I am trying to binge again but I will know more after a few more doses. Overall very happy though. Thank you to everyone who gave advice.

I split dose and this is my experience as well.
