Anyone added low-dose Cagri to Reta for food noise?

14 replies7 peopleOct 22, 2026☆ Follow
Summary

Has anyone stacked low-dose Cagri with Reta to control food noise and cravings?

Users report mixed results when adding 0.25 mg Cagri to Reta doses around 3-12 mg. Some find the combination reduces noise effectively and allow lowering Reta, while others see constipation or incomplete control and prefer raising Reta first to 4-6 mg before stacking. Tirz is frequently mentioned as stronger for noise than either Reta or Cagri alone.

What this discussion establishesWhere people disagree

Whether to increase Reta before adding Cagri or stack immediately; whether Tirz should be the base instead of Reta for noise control.

Still open

Optimal long-term combination and whether metabolic benefits require staying on higher Reta.

Nothing here is advice.

I'm currently using 3 mg of Reta after stepping up gradually over several weeks. Appetite control is decent most days but sweets cravings and random hunger still show up, sometimes even in the second week at this dose. I don't want to push the dose higher right away because of side-effect concerns, so I'm thinking about trying a small amount of Cagri instead. I have a vial on hand and keep debating whether to start at 0.25 mg. Has anyone tried adding Cagri while still on a fairly low Reta dose?

I'm on 10 mg Tirz and just started 0.25 mg Cagri on top. Too early to tell how it goes.

3. I listed my Reta schedule earlier, maybe the mg labels weren't obvious. I'll fix that.

Sorry, I somehow read those numbers as your Cagri amounts. Hope you get useful replies.

Looking at the Reta trials, the lowest tested dose was 4 mg; anything below that was only for getting used to it.

My backup plan was to move to 4 mg next week even though I've only done two weeks at 3 mg, then see how it feels. I might also allow myself a bit more food this week if the hunger is real.

You might feel better after finishing the fourth week at 3 mg. If not, raise the Reta first and consider Cagri later. Don't start both changes together.

I added Cagri to my Reta about two and a half weeks ago. I'm at 12 mg Reta plus 0.25 mg Cagri. The cravings, especially for sweets, haven't fully gone away so I may need more Cagri, but constipation has been worse so I might lower the Reta instead. I've seen claims that full metabolic effects from Reta start around 6-8 mg, though I can't verify that.

I've been increasing every three weeks or so because by the third week on one dose the suppression feels weaker than the first two. This time the drop-off showed up already in week two, and the cravings seem stronger than before. I expected better control as the dose went up, so maybe I had the wrong idea. I probably shouldn't be in a rush to add Cagri while still low on Reta. How has your experience been?

Yes, I've done exactly that. I came down from 4 mg Reta to 2 mg over the last eight months. After a month on Reta I added 0.25 mg Cagri and titrated slowly. Now I take 1 mg Cagri the day after my Reta shot and it works well for me. The noise is gone and I'm happy with the results, though I'm still curious about trying other options.

What prompted you to lower the Reta? I've held off on other things because I haven't tried Cagri yet. We always seem to want the next option.

Tirz combined with other options gives me the appetite and craving control I need.

I'm close to my goal weight, plus I've had almost no sleep for nine months and get dizzy when standing. Depending on progress I may settle on 1 mg Reta, 1 mg Cagri, and 1 mg Tirz spaced through the week. Tirz helps with noise and Cagri stacked with Reta knocks it out more. Everyone has to experiment until they find what works, and even then it shifts. Some of us just want to try everything.

I'm using Tirz, Reta, and Cagri together. I'd keep raising Reta until the results are good enough; most people settle between 4 mg and 8 mg. I only added Reta after Tirz was already working well. For food noise specifically, Tirz seems stronger than Reta or Cagri, so that would have been my starting choice with Reta added second. Cagri would come third after balancing the first two. This is just my view though.

I'd raise Reta to at least 4 mg before adding anything else. The glucagon part is supposed to kick in fully from 4 mg onward, so lower amounts don't fully engage all three receptors. I titrated slowly and have now done twelve weeks at 4 mg before planning to go to 6 mg. That dose worked very well for me.
