Should i come off reta?

40 replies18 peopleSep 24, 2026☆ Follow
Summary

Should someone stop retatrutide when it causes anhedonia and fails to produce weight loss despite appetite suppression?

Most participants advise stopping reta if it provides no benefit and instead trying tirzepatide, which worked better for several people who had poor results or side effects on reta. A minority argue that higher doses produce reliable loss and that reta protects against insulin issues from other peptides. Experiences vary widely, with some reporting strong results at 9-12 mg and others seeing zero progress or worsened sleep and mood at lower doses.

What this discussion establishesWhere people disagree

Whether reta is generally superior to tirzepatide or whether non-responders should simply increase the dose versus switch compounds.

Still open

How long any dopamine-related side effects persist after stopping reta, and whether the original poster will maintain fat loss once tesa and 5-amino cycles end.

Nothing here is advice.

For four months now I've taken this at three milligrams each week but it hasn't produced much fat reduction for me at all. Instead it triggered reduced pleasure from dopamine along with weaker sessions at the gym. Appetite went down yet my intake was already quite restricted beforehand and the scale stayed stuck. At five foot eleven and two hundred thirty five pounds I'm fairly heavy and hoping to reach one hundred eighty five or one hundred ninety. Since then I've added epitalon to help my bad rest patterns and more recently tesa with ipa plus 5amino1mq. Over the past month on tesa and ten days on the other I've started seeing actual fat coming off. I'm wondering if staying on the first one is useful since I'd rather stop and check whether the dopamine issues clear up. At the same time I've read that secretagogues can hurt insulin response while this one improves it.

That's a shame about the complications. I chose to take a smaller quantity or move to a different option.

Anyone looked into different choices such as Tirz? For me Reta proved ineffective and caused discomfort. Yet Sema brought favorable effects, as did Tirz afterward.

ClearAnchor49archive6d

Tirz isn't something I've used yet. A complete 10mg package of reta remains unused as well. It might be worth cutting back on what I'm taking before ordering additional peptides and getting some tirz at that time.

I've joined those who may give Tirz a shot…gl

If a product looks questionable and brings no improvement, I end up stopping it for good. Sometimes that leaves me feeling better, or shows me it actually had some effect after all. There's no point in forcing myself to finish a set that isn't doing anything just to justify the cost. Right now I've got an almost full kit sitting around unused, and I'm thinking about passing a vial or two along to someone who might want to give it a shot. It could work to get one on its own first to work out the best amount for me, and only then get a full set once that fits. I shouldn't let my health targets wait around just to save the most on buying in bulk.

When I had some left that wasn't mixed yet I stuck it in the cold storage and picked up a replacement instead. Since the one I was using showed no results I quit even though I still had some on hand.

This seems like a personal matter regarding whether to discontinue that medication. Since details about your situation are limited, it comes down to weighing the positives against the downsides based on your own circumstances. Are there issues like liver fat accumulation? How about your response to insulin? What does your hemoglobin test show?

Recently before I began tesa I had bloodwork completed and all results looked excellent. Because of that I have no requirement for it regarding diabetes or comparable matters. My reason for trying it was the expectation of weight reduction support yet in reality nothing changed. Now I intend to lower my amount step by step down to one milligram and continue until the tesa period ends before taking time off without reta to check my state. Thanks to all for the nice replies.

AmberAlder58archive6d

Initially I began using Tirz but then changed over to Reta because it seemed fresh and exciting with all the buzz around it. The switch resulted in inferior performance which made me dissatisfied so I went back to Tirz where it's performing effectively once more.

Could you describe exactly how the findings proved to be inferior? Thanks

↳ replying to @AmberAlder58

I notice several others in this thread also failed to see strong effects from it. Still, it's nice that some users reported good results anyway. In my situation the thing wrecked my rest and left me with nonstop cravings, even more than before starting anything at all. That shows the benefit of having various choices around.

PlainAlder11archive5d

I went higher with the amount and it paid off big time, dropping sixty pounds makes that clear. I kicked things off at a certain level and raised it by increments at four-week intervals.

SharpCinder28archive5d

Phase three trials give the dosing amounts nearest to anything like a standard routine.

Saved a copy for me. What's with the 9 and 12 mg as a maintenance dose? I don't recall reading that.

SharpCinder28archive5d
↳ replying to @PlainAlder11

They switched from the eight milligram amount used in the earlier trial stage to nine milligrams instead and included six as an intermediate level so the doses would ramp up more evenly.

NorthWillow72archive5d
↳ replying to @PlainAlder11

From what I saw a handful topped out at nine while twelve was typical for most folks. The maintenance level for tirz also hit the ceiling. I adhered to the conference guidelines almost exactly only tweaking occasionally by holding steady on the amount during times of continued reduction resulting in a sixty four pound drop across thirty one weeks.

I recall something about my initial efforts starting in November involving a sudden four milligram increase with one administration. It's fuzzy now. At one point I had ten milligrams but then reduced to six though I may go up to eight the next day. Weight remains the same and I notice belly fat going down looking in the mirror and on the scale. My spouse takes twelve milligrams and I'm really giving it to her hard. 🤣

SharpCinder28archive5d

I saw fewer people dropping out from reactions at the middle dose than at the top level. The figures listed four point one percent for the lowest amount, six point nine for the middle, and eleven point three for the highest, against four point nine percent for the control in that research writeup.

I spotted a comment down at the end about upcoming research on aches in the knees along with pauses in breathing at night. So far nothing on those subjects has appeared around here beyond a few individual reports.

↳ replying to @NorthWillow72

I need to track down that article I saw earlier since it mentioned checking into the compound for pain in the lower spine as part of a fresh stage in their research.

My resting pulse climbed beyond what felt okay. Hunger reduction hardly showed up at all. Anhedonia hit me pretty hard. The pace of dropping weight also fell off.

Some folks don't drop pounds on these meds or similar glp compounds, roughly five to ten percent. The likelihood seems greater than usual that tirz also fails if reta produced no change. The amount stays modest so it's tough to separate weak dosing from outright non response and side effects make any increase unwise. Four milligrams over four months with zero loss points to weaker than typical reaction. Any drop in hunger or queasiness showed up? A diet already tight on calories might leave the amount unable to offset added appetite yet such restriction alone should still trigger loss. While secretagogues stay in play the compound blocks their usual blood sugar rise so pausing it during that period isn't optimal. Mood problems still point toward stopping though. What ranks higher right now muscle growth or fat reduction? Tirz remains an option assuming it avoids the mood trouble but doses would need raising to test actual response or elora could fit since its routes differ and the same troubles become improbable.

ClearAnchor49archive5d
↳ replying to @AmberAlder58

I appreciate your input. Does that mean you skip the emotional flatness with this compound? Maybe it's reduced instead. I always thought that feeling came from how these GLP meds affect hunger and pleasure centers, so the glucagon part never crossed my mind as a factor.

I fully agree this substance works incredibly well. Still different batches from underground makers can vary a lot in quality. I once got some vials that turned out to be completely ineffective. That was especially bad because authentic material normally calms my autoimmune problems while the worthless batch made those symptoms flare up fast. It felt awful. Going back to proper product took patience before concentrations returned and progress resumed. With the genuine version I noticed slight early shifts toward feeling calmer almost detached but those effects faded after several months. Now I am basically restored and actually doing better thanks to the autoimmune relief. Dosing needs differ sharply between individuals yet studies that reached almost total success aimed for the highest tolerable amount and that delivered results. From my experience hoping for solid outcomes at lower levels with gray market material stays unpredictable.

I'm wondering if you're adjusting the amount to deal with negative reactions or to make the treatment work better. Just trying to get a clearer picture. Suppose someone experiences poor rest at that lower weekly amount, does raising it improve the situation? And would it lead to greater loss of body mass? Lately I've been making an effort to consume additional red meat, poultry along with other natural items in order to recover some of the pounds I lost, since my doctor allowed me to resume exercising following a long break. Over the last fourteen days I've managed to reach the one hundred seventies again.

PlainAlder11archive5d
↳ replying to @GreenPebble13

I didn't notice much in the way of unwanted reactions even when reaching ten milligrams. When I said flipping earlier, I was referring to how effective and positive it has been. Around six milligrams my rest at night began to decline in quality, though I question whether the compound is responsible. Since I'm a guy past my youth, I have an appointment with a specialist this coming Thursday in the morning. During the night I find myself needing to use the bathroom several times.

AmberTimber37archive5d
↳ replying to @GreenPebble13

Over time many unwanted reactions tend to fade away. During the studies a portion of participants struggled with those reactions and stopped taking part. The pace at which the amount was raised played a big role since rushing it leads to problems. Achieving the results shown in research required getting close to the highest dose one could handle. I enjoy digging into statistics as they capture my attention. Examining the study outcomes reveals several noteworthy details particularly how the progress in shedding pounds unfolded differently for each option across weeks. One option leveled off after a while with no further gains no matter how long it continued. The other option when taken at the peak tolerable level kept showing improvement without stopping.

GreenPebble13archive5d
↳ replying to @AmberTimber37

I'm sticking with this no matter what, though I'm uncertain about enduring these elevated heart rates and pressures for much longer. I'm not prepared to push any limits on myself right now. This week I began dividing my doses and had the second one just yesterday. My rest improved because after that three in the morning sudden awakening I could drift off again. There were sudden starts at four and then five, and I got out of bed following the later one. At that five o'clock moment I found myself perspiring without any awareness of my pulse speeding up.

ClearAnchor49archive5d

Breaking the dose into parts just made reta's downsides hit harder for me. One rough day feels preferable to spreading that misery around, lol

SlowAlder89archive5d
↳ replying to @AmberTimber37

Hey, regarding the items you got, do you know the cap colors and if testing happened? Mine came from a group purchase that included checks, though I still need to administer them. Your point about aiming for the maximum dose you can handle to achieve optimal outcomes makes sense to me too. Information shows bigger amounts lead to faster fat reduction. It's funny, but nearing the end of my fifth month here and I'm just at four milligrams weekly. I'm going gradual because the pace of shedding pounds feels right for me.

PlainAlder11archive5d
↳ replying to @GreenPebble13

My pulse rises by roughly ten beats each minute. Blood pressure actually drops, maybe from the weight coming off. The advantages outweigh those minor downsides. Pressure, blood sugar averages, and lipid counts all improve. That's the reason plenty of people intend to continue indefinitely. Without any reactions showing up, splitting the amount isn't required. Ten milligrams once a week passes without notice for me. My partner uses twelve milligrams and reports the same.

SlowAlder89archive5d
↳ replying to @PlainAlder11

Yeah same here though the guy noted getting some bad batch from one spot while also using another name for them which makes me wonder if those could actually be unrelated outfits.

↳ replying to @AmberTimber37

I've been wondering if there's any analysis available on the poor quality lot that's been circulating. It seems likely since so many recent collective orders incorporated it. At the moment my supply comes from the earlier collective order back in June. That one cleared the checks and delivers the anticipated outcomes. Yet it looks like those checks miss some aspects considering the talks happening now about comparable items in other places.

↳ replying to @ClearAnchor49

Even a small amount of tirz leaves me unable to feel any pleasure :/

AmberTimber37archive4d
↳ replying to @SteadyCinder74

I lack any test results from my own use. The certificate included with the item appeared fake as well since it described a black lid with gold seal but what I received has a black lid with silver seal instead. I doubt this item was the real thing. I'm unsure about its contents and whether it originated from that source. There's really no point in spending to identify the other three bottles left. Maybe it got mixed up with a different compound? Or perhaps it's simply fake or ineffective stuff? Either way I'm certain it has no effect.

↳ replying to @AmberTimber37

That's unfortunate what you experienced. So far I haven't come across any fake reta, yet I share the view that it would become obvious inside a week. Imitation versions of these gut hormone copies simply don't pass, unlike some other peptides where the sensations seem doubtful.

PlainAlder11archive4d
↳ replying to @SlowAlder89

Probably just a regular name in this area.

↳ replying to @GreenPebble13

From the start this messed up my rest at night. Stepping the dose to three turned it into something awful and my pulse started racing hard. So I quit since there's no room to raise it more.

SharpCinder28archive4d
↳ replying to @SteadyLantern35

I asked what people's pulse rates were like before they began and once they started. Although trouble sleeping tends to ease up with time the quicker heart rate often lingers reaching its highest point near the six month mark before easing off. From the research the main issues showed up as nausea in 43 percent a rise of roughly 6.7 beats per minute and that odd skin sensation in around 21 percent at the top dose. Still waiting on approval in Britain.

From what I can recall names in China usually feature the province in them. This resembles the practice of labeling things with the state like plumbing and electric outfits do in Florida among other examples. Changsha acts as the lively main city for the Hunan part of China and gets recognized for its significance in the economy along with culture and entertainment.
