Finished My First Week of Reta

Summary

Is 1.5 kg loss in the first week on 2 mg Reta realistic, and how concerning is the reported heart rate increase?

The starter reports 1.5 kg loss plus mental calm, poor sleep, and appetite drop with no other sides, but worries about heart safety signals. Others say the scale drop is mostly water and normal at first, while Reta reliably raises resting heart rate a little without causing damage in healthy users. Later updates show steady weekly losses continuing at the same dose. Sleep disruption and internal shakiness appear for some when dosing or increasing.

This is my first peptide experience and I began at 2 mg. Dropped 1.5 kg already and wonder whether that is normal or mostly water. After the shot my thoughts settle the way they do after meditating. Sleep was limited because I felt alert at night, and appetite was noticeably lower. No other effects appeared. The heart safety data makes me unsure about continuing, any thoughts?

If you carry extra weight then 1.5 kg is believable and probably mostly water, part from the compound and part from just starting. You could not have created a 10 k calorie deficit in seven days from the medication alone. What heart safety signal?

PlainHarbour37archiveJan 27

I mean the report on heart effects that was shared online. It is probably fine for most people, I simply wondered whether the topic had already come up here.

Reta tends to raise resting heart rate a bit, but nothing beyond that. Anything more than a modest increase would be worth checking with a doctor.

Solid start for week one, though that pace is unlikely to hold. Much of it will be water. Keep tracking food and movement and the weight should keep coming off. Missing a week on the scale is normal, and daily weighing is not helpful.

New users sometimes feel anxious about the heart. Morning shots may be better so any issue does not happen overnight. Taking it earlier has improved my sleep, though results vary.

I figured that was the reference. Reta adds workload to the heart because it raises base metabolism, so there is no free lunch. I have no heart issues and the small extra load is offset by the benefits of lower weight and exercise. I began Reta at this point and am currently at this level.

All swelling in my legs cleared during the first week on Reta and my heart and cardio markers improved. The pounding sensation I used to get at bedtime has gone away completely.

Which app produced the third screenshot?

Wait until after week four before judging weight loss or sides. Then you will know whether to adjust the dose. Stay at the current level while the scale is still moving; it is not a race.

LevelThistle44archiveJan 30

Some people raise the dose specifically to reach glucagon signaling for extra metabolism and lean-mass retention compared with tirzepatide. That was my reason for switching. Hunger and food noise remain controlled for me on reta.

Your resting heart rate looks good. Mine usually sits between 70 and 80 and sometimes jumps to 100 without reason, which worries me.

Third week done and loss remains steady. All weights taken on the same weekday as the injection. The 99 kg figure is the starting weight before any Reta. Week 1 99 kg, Week 2 97.5 kg, Week 3 96 kg, so 1.5 kg each week.

Almost four months on Reta at 3 mg only. Resting heart rate moved from 59-62 up to 62-66. Dose increases also disturb sleep for me.

How does the sleep change show up for you? I am still on 2 mg and not sure I notice a difference yet.

I sometimes feel a brief internal shakiness and wake between 2 and 3 a.m. after any dose increase.

How much weight have you lost over the four months?
