Reta hunger suppression massively decreased through HGH?

20 replies12 peopleJun 19, 2026β˜† Follow
Summary

Does adding HGH reduce appetite suppression from retatrutide or other GLP-1s?

Users report mixed results when stacking HGH or GH secretagogues with retatrutide. Several notice noticeably weaker hunger control and stronger cravings after starting HGH, sometimes requiring higher reta doses or adding semaglutide. Others see no change in appetite at similar doses. Timing of injections and individual factors such as prior body composition are mentioned as possible influences.

At about 4 mg reta my appetite control was decent before. Digestion still slows and I fill up fast, but the hunger reduction has faded since I added 2-3 IU HGH daily three or four weeks ago. Even pushing past 4 mg a week now barely touches cravings the way it used to. I read that HGH can raise ghrelin and wondered if that might be counteracting the GLP-1 action.

I'm also on 4 IU daily and haven't seen any drop in reta's appetite effect. Might just need to go up to 5 or 6 mg soon.

I pin in the morning and around the three-hour mark hunger spikes hard, so I schedule lunch then. After that the rest of the day stays quiet. So yes, it happens.

Yep, your dose is too low.

The explanation is obvious given the way that hormone increases appetite. This realization came to me quite a while back unlike that fool.

I managed to stay silent instead of unloading on that guy and it feels pretty good now. Man I'm impressed with how I handled it πŸ˜…πŸ˜‚πŸ˜…πŸ’©

I wasn't inquiring about the amount of medication I'm using and I'm not seeking any input on whether to adjust it. My post focused entirely on how growth hormone interacts with this compound when it comes to appetite control and food desires. What I wanted to know is whether anyone combining the two noticed shifts in hunger levels or if the suppression stayed the same. Comments that my amount must be insufficient don't speak to the question I raised. I'm after accounts of that particular pairing's impact on those sensations instead of general comments on dosing.

My shots tend to happen right before bedtime, which means I never notice any rise in appetite during the hours that follow.

Opinions vary a lot among folks who've tried it. For me it triggered nonstop hunger and basically nullified the effects of that other compound unless the amount got raised substantially. So now I'm stacking a different one to manage things. From accounts I've come across, people who find it tough to add weight report unchanged hunger, whereas those who were once overweight mention stronger cravings instead.

I sometimes monitor my insulin after not eating for a while. Blood sugar numbers and A1C can stay steady even as insulin climbs sharply. That pattern often signals the beginning of resistance to insulin, which prompted me to cut back on my growth hormone amount.

Growth hormone makes me feel hungry since it requires additional fuel for muscle growth. Tried one medication for a couple weeks but quit after experiencing unwanted effects. That one actually boosted my appetite. The other option controls my cravings more effectively. I like to inject early in the day and then have just a couple of olives or a tiny piece of cheese or skip food entirely. I push past the initial urge to eat. By not giving in my body uses up excess fat stores. A bit later on I have a meal but my portions stay small. Splitting the injections left me wanting food all day long. Doing it in the morning fixed that issue. I'm still dropping pounds on a steady low amount of the main one combined with a small dose of the other two and some workouts. Shed two kilos over the past fourteen days while adding muscle.

It's been a while since my last tests, so bloodwork is probably due soon. My fat levels stay low and I handle insulin well. Carbs only get consumed close to exercise sessions, with training happening most days of the week while keeping growth hormone amounts modest. Shots occur in the evening several hours following the final meal of the day. Empty stomach cardio happens early to benefit from the fat release during sleep, meaning no food right after injecting. Still, tests are the only real way to know, and I agree they need doing.

SteadyAnchor13archiveJun 26

True. Taking those two things, the one that boosts growth hormone levels makes me a lot more hungry than usual.

I've been using the first compound at eight milligrams each week and introduced the second one at two milligrams daily a couple weeks back. This second one promotes growth hormone release. Once I saw the comment about appetite rising, I noticed the same thing happening here. Even though I've stuck to lower food intake, there's definitely more of an urge to eat compared to before starting the new addition, though it's manageable. My intake is well under what my body burns at rest, yet the scale isn't dropping quickly. Maybe fluid buildup or muscle increase could explain it, but neither seems probable, and I haven't boosted my eating much. The expectation was that visceral fat would decrease from one and overall fat from the other, working together strongly. Perhaps the system needs a short adjustment phase before the fat reduction really kicks in while protecting muscle tissue.

Using that first compound really ramped up how much I wanted to eat, unlike the other hormone which left it unchanged. Actually that third option pushed my appetite higher than all previous experiments. Food thoughts consumed my mind constantly, and this urge grew stronger each time I raised the amount taken. The level of the second substance stayed fixed the whole period, ruling it out as a factor in the change. Clearly the third one was responsible, since stopping it improved my ability to manage cravings even as I kept taking the second substance.
