Summary

what effects does low-dose retatrutide produce on fat loss rate, cravings, heart rate, sleep, and muscle preservation during a cut

Users report consistent 0.5-0.75 kg weekly loss at 2 mg then 3 mg with only a 5-6 bpm sustained RHR rise, unchanged sleep, and reduced cravings for coffee, tea, alcohol and snacks. Loss rate can be slowed by adding calories; one report of blurry vision resolved with BPC. BIA scale readings are unreliable due to hydration shifts even when strength is maintained, and muscle retention is pursued via 1 g protein per lb lean mass plus frequent training to failure.

Okay time to begin. To give some background I'm a fairly fit man in middle age who has exercised regularly at the gym for more than ten years yet I've never managed to shed excess fat throughout my existence. I can build strength and size without trouble but staying trim has always been difficult. My build seems to favor a softer look than I prefer right now around twenty to twenty two percent body fat so after looking into these medications I settled on this one as the right choice. My plan is to use the smallest amount that might shift things in the right direction. I've held steady at my present weight and body fat level for some time and it's workable but I want to reduce the extra padding. That's why I'm hoping this compound will handle part of the work. I'll share my week by week notes here along with any updates because reading similar accounts from others has been useful for me. Basic details male mid forties five foot ten one hundred seventy eight centimeters weight this morning seventy nine kilograms one hundred seventy four pounds estimated body fat twenty to twenty two percent using a home scale I realize it's not precise but trends are what matter average resting heart rate forty four to forty six average blood pressure one ten over seventy one beginning at one milligram first impressions and notes well that initial step certainly raised my pulse a little after watching plenty of clips on mixing the powder and learning about shots I finally went ahead and did it. My syringes are all one milliliter size and I wanted two milliliters of bacteriostatic water for the twenty milligram vial so that meant two separate additions and after swirling I worried because a few small clumps remained but they cleared up. Then came drawing the right amount for one milligram and I had somehow pictured it would take most of the syringe yet it only reached ten units a very small volume. Part of me wondered if something that tiny could even register but I went ahead and injected without trouble. I half expected some dramatic response yet nothing happened. No notable feeling afterward maybe a faint warmth though that was probably just in my head. Now I wait unsure what changes if any I should notice next. It's hard not knowing what to anticipate especially since hunger and cravings feel normal most days so the thought of those easing off seems odd. I suppose we'll find out. Mostly I expect less between meal eating particularly on weekends plus a small lift in daily burn since most of my time is seated at a desk and my morning workouts provide the bulk of movement. That combination might create the calorie gap I'm after though reactions vary so only time will show. That's all for the moment I'll likely post again after the next weekly shot unless something else stands out before then.

This is the second time I've come across someone like you in this spot. Where exactly are these cold-blooded androids appearing from anyway?

BlueCinder96archiveMay 6
↳ replying to @SlowSignal40

Red hair supposedly means no spirit inside, yet my heart ticks along like some kind of engine. Really though the key is simply sticking to the same schedule every week. Five days I spend roughly an hour moving at a quick pace on foot or doing light jogging, then follow that with an hour and a quarter of lifting weights. The remaining two days keep the walking portion but add twenty to thirty minutes of tough interval work or timed pushes. My resting pulse lines up clearly with how steady I stay. After an injury forced me to skip everything, within just over a week my usual average had climbed into the lower fifties, yet it drops again fast once the routine returns.

GreenMeadow54archiveMay 6

Resting pulse for me used to sit in the middle and bottom of the forties. Bloodwork showed very low testosterone even though the test had nothing to do with heart rate. Once replacement began the rate moved up into the bottom fifties.

BlueCinder96archiveMay 6
↳ replying to @GreenMeadow54

Every year I undergo a thorough set of bloodwork. My testosterone readings come back fine, showing no reasons behind my difficulties in shedding fat. They don't fall into the range that would qualify for hormone replacement therapy there, sitting instead in the higher middle area. I've examined those results closely on each occasion they arrive, searching for clues about why losing weight proves tough, but found nothing. It seems to stem from resistant heredity mixed with my inconsistent self-control.

SlowSignal40archiveMay 6
↳ replying to @BlueCinder96

It has become apparent to me. Genetics hold the key, especially when it comes to ethnicity. Everyone here shows no empathy whatsoever. No other reason makes sense. On the topic of losing fat, I decided to test out a metabolism-enhancing supplement.

BlueCinder96archiveMay 7
↳ replying to @SlowSignal40

Several years back I experimented with some weight loss supplements but they really didn't do much for me at all. I've done some research on lipo-c along with various other similar compounds and if this current trial with reta falls short of my goals then I could look into that option instead however right now my focus is entirely on seeing what results come from sticking with reta.

AmberBramble94archiveMay 7

I'm forty-one years old and enjoy running long distances. For nearly four weeks I've been using Reta, and my blood pressure along with resting pulse were already quite low naturally. This substance pushed my resting pulse way up, which set off the anxiety I tend to have, though I'm starting to adjust to the change. Maintaining zone two during my runs at the speed I like has become very challenging, yet I expect things to balance out over time. Have you seen any shifts in your own pulse?

BlueCinder96archiveMay 7
↳ replying to @AmberBramble94

It's amusing you brought that up since I was thinking about sharing an update now instead of holding off for the weekly check in like I had first intended. A couple of the bigger points I felt somewhat uneasy about, using that word lightly since I figured I'd need to tolerate them to some extent, involved the mentioned rises in resting heart rate along with heart rate in general plus possible breaks in rest. I know how key solid rest is and have run into trouble with it before so I didn't want to throw that off much. Right after the first intake my resting heart rate came in one lower than the day before yet stayed inside my usual span so it didn't register as much of a shift beyond staying flat. The blood pressure reading sat a little lower too. Rest felt solid even better than normal and the tracker showed extra time in deeper stages. That's worth keeping an eye on and I've seen comments that this compound might improve rest for some folks which is interesting either way. This part caught my attention more. You noted trouble holding zone two and my session today was cardio so time on the treadmill. I noticed sweat built up fast even during lighter work and heart rate moved into active ranges sooner than normal. Still a single session doesn't give enough to separate what comes from the compound versus normal ups and downs. Anyone who trains regularly knows two days can feel similar but one brings easy records while the other makes even basics feel hard. It varies that way so this needs watching as well. How much of it are you taking?

BlueCinder96archiveMay 7

Also, something key about the medication and hunger levels. I do notice hunger pangs and my belly growls as it empties, plus I realize food is necessary to meet goals, yet there's no pull toward between-meal eating. The change isn't huge, and I question whether my thoughts are playing a role by reminding me of the recent dose or if the substance is truly responsible. It's an odd sensation, though not unpleasant, simply unusual. Typically I maintain control on weekdays, but when the weekend arrives my resolve weakens and progress slips away. So the next couple of days will really challenge that.

SlowSignal40archiveMay 7

Now I wonder what this stuff does to those folks here who claim super slow pulses around forty beats each minute. That has to be made up, sounds like they're robots instead. After my second shot of it today, my resting pulse rate sits near seventy six, up from the sixty eight it was earlier. Being sick with the flu messed up my workout ideas.

AmberBramble94archiveMay 8
↳ replying to @BlueCinder96

I'm taking roughly two milligrams each week at the moment. Next Monday marks the fifth week and I'm thinking about going up to four milligrams though I'm unsure whether to split the amount. This medication has really cut down my urge to snack which used to be a big problem for me since I'd often grab donuts and eat nonstop during work hours. Hunger and thoughts of food still show up but they feel quieter and less appealing now. It's a mixed thing because I like eating yet nothing draws me in like before. I want to reduce intake next and then move to a low steady level. Overall I'm happy with how it's going. Sleep got thrown off early on but appears to be settling. I usually get up around four in the morning so rising at three thirty hasn't bothered me much. This week I've finished a ten mile run along with three eight mile ones. My pulse is moving back toward what it normally runs though it's still a bit high for easy efforts. I feel positive heading out to exercise which is typical but the last couple months made those efforts tougher than usual. Glad things are improving and my legs have been feeling solid lately.

BlueCinder96archiveMay 8

My resting heart rate upon waking today measured 48 beats per minute. This falls just beyond my usual range and typically occurs only after consuming food near bedtime, lacking hydration, or missing regular early exercise sessions. However, since it's merely one reading, I cannot confirm any link to reta. During my two-hour workout session today, the mean heart rate sat somewhat above the average from the previous month, suggesting a possible effect. The change remains minimal though. A jump of ten beats would worry me more than this two or three beat rise, and elevated rates during activity would concern me further, yet this seems minor. Accepting it as a trade-off for a small metabolic uptick works for now. I intend to add more low-intensity cardio sessions, as that usually lowers my resting rate, and it will be curious to observe any combined results. All other aspects feel normal. I still recognize true hunger signals without feeling driven to address them right away. The weekend is starting, which will provide the actual challenge.

I came across this interesting bit of information that seems unbelievable yet turns out to be true. Apparently individuals with red hair require stronger doses of anesthesia compared to others. Doctors factor this in when determining amounts for procedures, often increasing by around a fifth. That's why I'm bringing it up, since the same pattern might hold for various medications, and I'm curious whether something like reta would be affected too.

PatientHarbour23archiveMay 8
↳ replying to @BlueCinder96

Procedures always seem to require extra anesthesia for me. In every case so far the staff comments that they need quite a bit more than usual and the dental office ends up giving twice the amount. These GLPs don't appear affected by that in terms of how strongly or weakly they work for me. It might tie to my hair color or something else entirely but pain doesn't bother me much normally so strong medications only come into play when there's no other option.

BlueCinder96archiveMay 11

I wanted to share a quick follow-up. My main worry involved overeating on weekends. What started as a normal intake day might balloon into twice or more that amount. Doing this across a couple of days could wipe out all the progress from the weekdays. This treatment has prevented those issues entirely. After taking the initial small amount, I ate a standard midday meal like a seafood broth with toasted bread high in protein and stayed satisfied way beyond usual. Before, I'd soon be hunting around for extra bites like a bar with protein, and that would continue throughout the afternoon and evening. That didn't happen now. I'm not experiencing intense hunger reduction, yet meals seem to stay with me much longer, keeping me content.

BlueCinder96archiveMay 14

First week wrapped up nicely. Basic details here: guy in his mid forties, height around 178 cm, morning scale showed 77.9 kg after starting at 79 kg. The rolling seven day average dropped by 0.7 kg. Body fat estimate sits between 18 and 20 percent using the same scale for trend tracking, which is heading downward. Resting heart rate averages 44 to 47, blood pressure holds near 110 over 72, and the current amount is 1 mg.

Early impressions feel surprising. That tiny volume really seems to deliver results, even though the actual compound inside is minimal. Total scale movement reached 1.1 kg lower than the prior week, while the smoothed average sits at 0.7 kg. Some initial water shift probably occurred, yet not much, given my usual maintenance level and awareness of fluid changes after tough lower body workouts. The 0.7 kg loss appears to be fat, and subtle visual shifts already show up in certain areas.

Heart rate worries remain just an ongoing note rather than a problem. Roughly a day and a half to two days after the shot, resting rate climbed a couple beats, and elevating heart rate during steady cardio felt simpler. Max effort during intervals stayed unchanged though. Beyond that, nothing else showed up. Energy stayed normal, stomach stayed settled, and one headache traced back to not drinking enough. Thirst has ticked up slightly, but hydration habits keep it in check.

Hunger patterns changed in an odd way. Instead of a clear physical signal confirming action, the lack of an urge stands out. Stomach still empties and growls at times, yet the immediate push to grab food right away has faded. Weekdays stay steady anyway, but weekends usually undo progress. This time regular meals left me satisfied for hours with zero pull toward extra kitchen trips.

Progress feels steady at a comfortable speed, which suits the goal of keeping muscle intact. Losing some lean tissue during fat loss is expected without extra compounds, yet keeping the rate measured should limit that. Still interested to see how long the present amount continues working before any adjustment. Reports from others suggest the effect might fade around week three or four, and staying at the smallest useful level longer appeals. We'll see how it plays out.

GreenSignal63archiveMay 14

I'm liking this process since I'm pretty much following the identical path, in my early forties, quite active with weights, slightly taller and larger than you and definitely lacking your resting heart rate. Mine hovers near 60 but honestly endurance work has never been my thing. First dose was Sunday so roughly four days have passed. Weekdays feel straightforward because work takes me away from home and I pack every meal which supports the fasting routine. Early on I wondered whether anything was happening since typical hunger signals kept appearing yet with sixteen hour fasts I figured the substance simply wouldn't erase every appetite cue and I began at half a milligram planning to reach one milligram soon. I found myself pushing harder during sessions and sweat appeared more readily even on moves where it rarely showed before. Maybe the extra drive comes from knowing an injection happened. Began at ninety two point two kilos after a big weekend and hit eighty nine point three this morning. Truly the first time under ninety in fifteen years with a noticeable shift when I look in the mirror though I realize fluid reduction explains most of it and still this number never showed even after prior fasts despite eating more quality calories daily. On the effects side I clearly felt extra fluid demands with itchy skin and dry eyes so I moved to two electrolyte packs daily instead of one and those issues have now gone. Appetite cues are easing a little but the weekend lies ahead. Nothing notable shows with resting heart rate yet.

BlueCinder96archiveMay 14
↳ replying to @GreenSignal63

I'm aware sensitive or itchy skin might show up as a reaction, though dry eyes hadn't occurred to me as something that could happen. Right now my allergies are hitting their worst point, so I can't separate whether these issues stem from that or just the usual seasonal stuff.

BlueCinder96archiveMay 15

Yesterday evening my resting pulse hit 50 beats per minute, which falls outside what I usually see. This showed up right after the initial injection, specifically two days later when I first spotted a noticeable uptick. With more of that substance circulating compared to the previous week, it seems logical that this would happen. Still, it might just be a weird reading. I had dinner later than normal, and I could tell my stomach wasn't empty at bedtime, something that tends to raise my resting pulse. Also, my heart rate variability has been trending lower throughout the past several days. I could experiment with some breathing exercises to try raising it back up, or just keep watching the numbers.

BlueCinder96archiveMay 15
↳ replying to @GreenSignal63

Yep, holding steady with the one milligram dose given that it's merely the second week. My thinking on extra substance persisting relies on the compound's decay time, resulting in leftovers from the prior week's shot mixing with the present one.

LevelCinder55archiveMay 15
↳ replying to @BlueCinder96 (opening post)

I don't expect much from just 1mg, since most start around 2mg. Based on the figures you shared, the fat around your internal organs seems like the real problem. People who train regularly can end up with a stubborn midsection that isn't ordinary body fat. That other option targets the fat around the organs and also triggers some growth hormone to support muscle gains. Combining both gives me much stronger fat reduction overall.

BlueCinder96archiveMay 15
↳ replying to @LevelCinder55

My view differs on whether beginning at two milligrams works better. Individual responses vary a lot, so fixing one amount as ideal from the start seems unwise to me. Trials do rely on that two milligram level though. Results are already appearing for me at one milligram. We'll stick with it at present. My preference leans toward the smallest amount that actually works.

SlowSignal40archiveMay 15

Things look perfectly normal at present. Those injections still need more time before they start working. The substance that reached your heart arrived with the very first administration... that super fast pulse apparently sent the material into a heavy rest instead of pushing it forward. With a resting pulse around forty while dozing, I have to wonder whether some spellcaster tried to wake you and then sadly doubted his own strength. Have you seen any shifts in your vitality levels since the whole process got underway?

ClearHarbour22archiveMay 15
↳ replying to @LevelCinder55

I'm really curious about pairing those two together. At first I figured they overlapped too much, yet I've noticed others combining them anyway. Being new to all this, adding the second one makes sticking with a low dose of the first look practical. I've come across plans where some aim to continue that small amount long term for general health. It's pretty interesting.

GreenSignal63archiveMay 15
↳ replying to @LevelCinder55

I began with a low dose of that compound to gauge the potential reactions and overall results I'm getting. The numbers on the scale are already moving in a good direction. My intention is to gradually raise the amount over the coming weeks and monitor the progress, since there's no rush involved. There's still some fat under the skin that needs addressing initially, though the other substance seems worth considering afterward. One thing that worries me is dropping muscle while trying to shed pounds. Would combining the two help in staying lighter without sacrificing lean tissue?

BlueCinder96archiveMay 15
↳ replying to @SlowSignal40

My pets seem to rouse me each dawn to verify I'm breathing. Animals pick up on such details, more intelligent than people realize. The little jerks climb to the sill and shove the drapes aside at dawn, allowing light to hit my face directly. It's all an effort to confirm I'm not gone. Clever. And likely malicious too.

LevelCinder55archiveMay 18
↳ replying to @GreenSignal63

Once I'd used the first compound for roughly thirty days I added the second one. That step created a major improvement in my experience. Doing shots five times weekly really bothers me and they disturb my rest a little. Even so pairing the two has produced excellent results overall.

BlueCinder96archiveMay 21

Finished another week on this path. Quick overview as a guy in his mid forties standing 5'10 or 178cm tall. Scale showed 76.5kg or roughly 168.65lbs this morning after starting the period at 77.9kg. The rolling seven day mean dropped by 0.7kg just like before. Body fat estimate fell another 0.6 percent on the same scale even though accuracy isn't perfect and trends matter most. Resting heart rate sits at 46 to 48 now after previously being 44 to 47. Blood pressure averages 113 over 71 compared to the earlier 110 over 72. Dose stays at 1mg of reta.

Observations remain fairly consistent with last time except the patterns feel more repeatable. The scale keeps moving lower and most of the change appears to come from fat. Strength numbers in training have stayed level or edged up slightly maybe because sessions dropped to three per week for better rest between them. Visible changes in certain spots plus easier vein definition confirm the fat loss angle too. Heart rate behavior follows the same cycle noticed early on. Roughly a day after the shot resting rate climbs a couple beats and holds there for three or four days before easing back. Working heart rate shows a similar shift with zones reached more readily while peak levels stay unchanged. Hunger awareness lines up with that cycle as well. A day or two ahead of the next shot food thoughts and appetite become more noticeable though not disruptive yet. That timing has me thinking about moving the dose up to 1.5 or even 2mg since the return of those signals often points to needing a small increase. Everything else feels fine with no real negative effects like stomach upset or sleep issues and only a tiny heart rate bump overall. The one minor thing worth noting is an occasional headache when fluid intake slips a bit even though hydration usually stays solid and sensitivity to that has always been there. Progress continues steadily and the effort stays on track.

GreenSignal63archiveMay 21

I tried handling it on separate days this week, Sunday plus Thursday, which helped hold the sound down. Maybe breaking them apart would help if the racket turns out to be the main issue.

BlueCinder96archiveMay 21
↳ replying to @GreenSignal63

Thinking about it myself lately. To tell the truth, with the tiny amount involved, I see no problem with increasing the amount to 1.5/2 every seven days. Additionally, it interests me whether this adjustment could influence my heartbeat to a greater degree, or if instead the modest elevation remains unchanged yet occurs steadily across the seven days.

BlueCinder96archiveMay 28

Wrapped up another seven days. Basic numbers for a guy in his mid-forties standing 178 cm tall show this morning's scale reading at 75.9 kg after starting the week at 76.5 kg. The rolling average over seven days fell about 0.8 kg. The body-fat reading on my scale dropped another 0.3 percent though I treat it mainly as a trend indicator and the device itself has recorded a total 1.4 percent fat reduction plus 1.3 percent muscle gain since the beginning. Resting heart rate holds steady near 46-48 beats. Blood pressure sits at 112 over 69 compared with 113 over 71 earlier. Yesterday I moved from 1 mg up to 2 mg.

The main observation is that almost nothing shifted from the prior week aside from the dose change. Results still look and feel positive so the increase was not driven by lack of effect. Instead the last couple days before the next pin felt a little harder to manage and I wanted to see whether the higher amount would smooth that out. Any link between dose level and heart rate will show up in future notes but so far nothing stands out.

The muscle question has been on my mind a lot lately especially after the scale kept showing rising lean-mass numbers alongside falling fat numbers. Visibly fat is coming off and I feel fairly sure muscle is not disappearing even if new muscle growth remains uncertain. Early on I worried reta might strip away muscle the way some descriptions suggest but the data and how I feel do not line up with that picture.

Four thoughts keep coming up. First the studies report roughly a quarter to a third of lost weight coming from lean mass yet that figure bundles water glycogen and other non-muscle tissue so it does not translate straight into muscle loss. Second most participants in those trials carried long-term obesity and related conditions and tended to be older so their starting point and daily habits differ from someone already training and eating deliberately. Third any calorie deficit produces some lean-mass drop for almost everyone regardless of compounds used because the body does not switch fuel sources with perfect precision. Fourth the lean-mass ratio to total weight usually improves even when absolute lean mass falls a bit. Someone beginning at half lean mass might finish closer to seventy percent lean mass after losing mostly fat which changes both health markers and appearance for the better yet that ratio rarely gets mentioned.

Taken together it seems realistic to hold onto most muscle while using this approach by keeping the deficit moderate hitting protein targets lifting with enough effort and sleeping enough. That covers the main points for now.

By the way, has anyone else cut back on their daily coffee since starting this? Or maybe easing off caffeine altogether? I've sure been having fewer cups than before, and around here in Sweden that feels like a serious violation.

It seems like this is hitting almost every urge I have. I used to have five or six teas daily but now I barely touch them, perhaps just once every couple of weeks. My interest in drinking has eased off somewhat too, and the pull for chocolate or other treats has disappeared altogether.

BlueCinder96archiveJun 4

Work has kept me swamped lately so this note stays brief. Last week I raised the dose to two milligrams. No unwanted effects showed up and nothing else changed much except a bit more weight dropped even with calorie intake unchanged. The urge to eat also disappeared for a day or two right before the shot. All other readings stayed identical including pulse whether at rest or moving around. Stepping from one to two milligrams made no difference there for me. By the way my top stomach muscles are starting to show when the light hits right.

Does the scale give you pounds or body fat percentages? Mine is a Renpho that shows percentages so the skeletal muscle reading can look misleading. For example if I'm 175 with 54 percent skeletal muscle, 16 percent body fat and 30 percent other stuff that works out to 94.5 pounds of muscle and 28 pounds of fat. Drop five pounds to 170 and the scale now shows 54.4 percent muscle and 15.8 percent fat which is 92.48 pounds muscle and 26.86 pounds fat, so the percentage went up but I actually lost two pounds of muscle. Just an illustration, not saying your scale does the exact same thing.

I started around 94kg and picked 85kg as the first goal that should leave me looking fairly lean. Good point, and my scale plus the app can display both percentages and actual numbers. Checking the raw figures there is a small drop in muscle now, but that lines up with what I said earlier that any cut with or without a GLP will produce some muscle loss. So the clearer view is raw numbers show a little muscle loss while the percentages show a better lean mass to weight ratio.

BlueCinder96archiveJun 5
↳ replying to @GreenSignal63

That's something I've been wondering about too as I get closer to the lower weight I want. Once I reach that point it'll be time to bulk again, so is it possible while still on reta? Might find out soon.
