Reta Hunger

43 replies22 peopleApr 26, 2026β˜† Follow
Summary

why does retatrutide increase hunger and sweet cravings at low doses even when combined with appetite-suppressing meds like Adderall

Users report that retatrutide often raises hunger and sweet cravings in the first weeks at low doses because its metabolic effects appear before strong appetite suppression. Many find the increase fades once the dose reaches 1.5-5 mg, while others add tirzepatide, semaglutide or cagrilintide for extra suppression. The drug also appears to blunt Adderall’s appetite-blocking action for some people. Proper reconstitution math and syringe units are needed to know actual doses taken.

Not long ago I began with Reta and right away saw my appetite jump way up, especially big time sweet tooth cravings. What makes it strange is that Adderall has always cut down my hunger before. At the same time I'm prescribed Keppra along with Lamotrigine. Anyone seen anything about these mixing or how to handle the food urges?

AmberAlder58archiveApr 26

Had you tried either of those earlier ones ahead of beginning this latest option? It seems unusual that appetite would rise otherwise though reactions certainly vary between individuals. A number of folks notice weaker control over cravings with this version and therefore combine something else alongside it for support.

I'm wondering what amount you're taking right now, and how long ago counts as recent here? I don't know much about possible problems mixing those two particular drugs, yet from what I've seen personally a bunch of folks notice more appetite at smaller amounts of this compound. That feeling sometimes fades once the dose goes up, though part of how this one works is ramping up calorie burn while not hitting the hunger blocking pathways as hard as the main alternatives do. For that reason the appetite control might not kick in until bigger quantities are used. Rather than keep raising the level some people stack it with something else aimed more at curbing cravings.

I obtained twelve milligrams of it then mixed two milliliters of bacteriostatic water into the vial after which I suppose I took fifty or a hundred micrograms

ClearCinder61archiveApr 26

I'm experiencing the very same issue right now. Sweets never interested me previously, and this didn't occur during my time on the first medication, yet after switching to the second and stopping the initial one entirely, I find myself wanting chocolate along with waking up extremely hungry. I drink water quickly and take a chocolate-flavored protein shake once the craving becomes intense, which has provided a bit of help. This week I'll raise my dose to determine whether it eases off.

NorthSparrow63archiveApr 26

Normally I skip sugary stuff entirely, yet right after starting I suddenly wanted chocolate during those opening weeks. My dose began at one milligram, and my appetite eased off around thirty days later. I still feel hunger at times, which suits me fine since squeezing in sufficient protein daily already takes effort.

This amount looks absurdly tiny to me. No shock at all that nothing happens from it.

NorthKettle44archiveApr 26

It seems somewhat pushy, wouldn't you agree? That person apparently requires minor assistance. Concerning the mixing ratio in the single twelve milligram bottle, a twenty five unit shot delivers one and a half milligrams. Such a quantity leans toward the modest range, yet it delivers a notably greater result than amounts in micrograms. Furthermore, the recollection of fifty to one hundred micrograms leaves uncertainty, so revealing the number of units administered permits precise calculation of the dose and insight into which quantities produce results or fail to do so.

CopperSparrow52archiveApr 26

I've been checking more details and using smaller amounts lately. My usual amount sits around fifty to one hundred milligrams so I multiply that by ten. I always verify the figures beforehand though. Getting those wrong means facing a drawn out stretch of trouble.

PatientAlder89archiveApr 26

I agree with that experience. Before trying these options my interest in eating had disappeared entirely. The first one brought back my appetite after what felt like ages without it. It seemed to restart how my body processes energy. I later included the other because it eased my aches and swelling and that ended up removing the hunger again.

When I began using Reta I noticed an intense craving for sweets and it turns out that happens fairly often. I resolved mine by making sure to consume extra basic carbohydrates like bread rice and potatoes. I boosted my carb intake after that.

Drama online holds no appeal for me because it tends to feel immature and pointless. I have zero desire to participate in that sort of thing. Quoting my words in your reply made the whole thing come across as pretty straightforward. Everything checks out fine.

IronLantern24archiveApr 27

Early in the year I began with a low starting amount. For those first three weeks hunger reduction felt really strong but I also wanted to nap constantly and dealt with awful sulfur-like bloating. Later while raising the dose bit by bit the control over eating urges became only average and I noticed hunger returning often. At five milligrams this week my appetite has become so low that hitting protein goals takes real effort. Unwanted effects have faded almost completely. Increasing the amount at a gradual pace matched what I needed based on how things went for me. I reached the level that works simply by continuing upward in my own case and this remains just one person's story.

IronWillow59archiveApr 27

It's amazing how much reactions to Reta can vary from one person to another. For me the effect was the opposite of drowsiness, leaving me unable to rest properly across seven days. After the opening intake I stayed awake nonstop for two full days, then managed only six hours each night during the rest of that period. That worked out okay for me personally since my usual pattern runs nine or ten hours, sometimes stretching to thirteen, and I've long wanted to require fewer.

KeenAlder60archiveApr 27
↳ replying to @IronWillow59

Agreeing with that thought. My motivation for beginning with the other compound came from how the previous one made me doze excessively, aside from job time or essential tasks. Specifically, rising at seven, laboring until four, tending to the animals, then resting. Awakening around twelve for the dogs, returning to bed till morning. That seemed odd. With this current option, sleep duration normalized to seven or eight hours nightly.

WarmSparrow33archiveApr 27
↳ replying to @BlueSignal49

I can't understand why anyone would lose track of the exact quantity involved in what they consume.

IronLantern24archiveApr 27
↳ replying to @IronWillow59

For a stretch there it seemed like I was dealing with sudden daytime drowsiness, mostly around midday. Doing my job remotely made it tough to keep my eyes open, and I'd catch myself drifting off right in front of the screen. Oddly enough my usual rest is only about five hours each night, yet those first weeks on the new medication were basically spent sleeping nonstop.

PlainAlder11archiveApr 27

The whole thing referred to a remark mentioned in the quote you used, saying the portion was absurdly small or the like.

WarmLantern65archiveApr 27
↳ replying to @ClearPebble80

I went ahead and multiplied my intake by ten following that schedule and it worked out well.

SharpAlder17archiveApr 27

Maybe the suggested amount is supposed to be funny. Shooting even that tiny quantity sounds reckless, and I doubt the real plan was some huge number instead, so maybe it's just someone messing around online. If not, the person who posted should probably set aside the supplies and do more homework on it. Or skip that, since it's not my call anyway.

Alongside the peptide and stimulant combo I previously used the bipolar med but skipped that epilepsy one. Sweet and carb urges hit during the early phase on the peptide though mostly gone away since. Urges remain milder than before. The stimulant still provides focus benefits even at reduced amounts from the script and delivers hunger control lasting four to eight hours based on dosage plus immediate versus extended type. What amounts of these are you on and best of luck to you.

ClearPebble80archiveApr 29
↳ replying to @NorthKettle44

Typically I go extended times without eating or stick to one meal per day, yet lately I've been having meals every day to maintain energy. Following a meal heavy in protein consisting of a pair of steaks, I got up experiencing strong desires for sweets. What amount in micrograms would you suggest? I'm using thirty milligrams of the immediate release form, consuming it two or three times daily. The desires have indeed lessened, particularly for sugary things, though I long for something uplifting. What makes you consume twenty to thirty percent smaller amounts?

GreenLedger62archiveApr 29
↳ replying to @ClearPebble80

Once I began covering the costs myself my intake went down. I also travel often to Asia and there it's very limited. So I chose to reduce slowly and add in changes to my meals and activity levels. Now the amount I get for three months lasts around ten to twelve instead. Most days I use either a twenty milligram quick one or thirty for extended. Those extended ones I like best. Concerned that Reta slowing things down would keep the extended version around longer, but so far I see no change in how it works.

↳ replying to @AmberAlder58

True the feeling shows up way less often these days even though traces of it still hang around earlier when i took just the medication by itself i never picked up on anything at all i stayed busy with tasks deep into the evening then reacted with surprise once i noticed how late it had become

ClearPebble80archiveApr 29
↳ replying to @NorthKettle44

Everything seems fine now. I combined twelve milligrams with two milliliters of bacteriostatic water. After that I took ten units more, which comes out to around one hundred fifty micrograms. The hunger feels slightly reduced, I suppose. Still dealing with some appetite though, and that's frustrating. Adderall used to eliminate it entirely. What's surprising is that normally I keep going with meals past the point of being full. This time I stopped and kept the rest aside, which is new for me. I'm not overweight really, more like thin but with some extra. Hoping this makes a difference. What drew me to this one instead of alternatives were the effects on the mind.

NorthKettle44archiveApr 29
↳ replying to @ClearPebble80

I need to mention a couple of points first. To make sure we're talking about the same thing regarding amounts and measurements, can you tell me if those are the 100 unit one milliliter type of syringes? Regardless, that 150 microgram amount you think you're getting isn't accurate at all. Once I know the exact volume per unit, I can give a better calculation.

ClearPebble80archiveApr 29
↳ replying to @NorthKettle44

After checking the dosage tool with twelve milligrams combined into two milliliters of solution it came up showing two hundred fifty micrograms which explains why I switched to that measurement earlier. I'm curious about raising the amount or maybe some kind of fat reduction estimator for this stuff though I'm just joking since outcomes always differ.

NorthKettle44archiveApr 29
↳ replying to @ClearPebble80

The computation device seems accurate, unlike the figures you worked out earlier. In any case, the markings on the injection tool still matter for this. Does it match the version holding a hundred units per milliliter, the third image from what you shared?

NorthAnchor76archiveApr 30
↳ replying to @ClearPebble80 (opening post)

Similar thing happened with me too. After staying on tirzepatide over twelve months I decided to test retatrutide briefly for roughly four weeks. In that stretch I saw my pulse climb along with almost no appetite control and some digestive troubles. Returning to tirzepatide brought my usual state right back.

NorthKettle44archiveApr 30
↳ replying to @ClearPebble80

I got the point now after the explanation. For my mix of two milliliters added to the twelve milligram container, that gives six milligrams per milliliter strength. Injecting ten units therefore equals point six milligrams, which is six hundred micrograms, instead of one hundred fifty. I should recall the amounts from my earlier injections so far and correct them to have an exact record of my past amounts for my own reference and if others need to know.

It's been observed that these GLP medications connect with adderall even if standard lists don't flag it, based on animal research. Just as they lessen the appeal of eating they can also blunt stimulant impact through direct effects on certain brain areas. While many such overlaps come from delayed stomach emptying that changes absorption this one appears more targeted. Though nothing specific shows up for reta the GLP-1 aspect means the pattern should still hold.

Once I began ozempic my dexamphetamine no longer produced its usual sensation and tirzepatide works the same way basically cutting the stimulant strength. Given the mental reasons for using it this may not matter much. Still the small reta amounts described probably achieve little and could reflect imagined results instead. If the stimulant effect drops that might explain the rise in sweet cravings. Others have noted similar cravings early on with reta tied to the glucagon part though they usually ease later.

I have no experience with Keppra so nothing to add there and no reports of trouble with lamotrigine either. Even so any new substance requires checking combinations which doctors or their systems normally handle or various online tools can cover and chatgpt manages drug details reasonably well.

KeenWillow14archiveApr 30
↳ replying to @ClearPebble80

The doses shown by that tool look random to me and have nothing to do with this compound in particular. One milliliter holds one hundred units while one milligram equals one thousand micrograms. With the solution at twelve milligrams per two milliliters, ten units comes out to six hundred micrograms. That amount worked okay as an initial check for tolerance. After that I moved to a real amount around one or one point five milligrams. I began with two point five milligrams on my own. Sixteen units delivers nine hundred sixty micrograms, twenty five units reaches one point five milligrams, and thirty three units gets close to two milligrams.

NorthKettle44archiveApr 30
↳ replying to @ClearPebble80

Seems like our understandings don't match up. Based on your description, the most recent intake hit six hundred micrograms along with everything taken earlier. Have you kept any log showing the exact times and amounts in units for every single administration? If that's the case, could you share those details? Avoid estimating in micrograms and stick to the unit measurements instead.

ClearPebble80archiveApr 30
↳ replying to @KeenWillow14

I think those sample amounts from the tool don't mean much and aren't tied to this compound in particular. I'm also puzzled here, sorry about that. Someone pointed out wondering about the six hundred figure. Honestly I have no clue myself.

KeenWillow14archiveApr 30
↳ replying to @ClearPebble80

Each mark on the syringes holds a hundredth of a milliliter so a full one contains a hundred of those marks. I mixed my twelve milligram container with two milliliters of the sterile water which equals two hundred marks. That spreads the powder so the whole amount sits at twelve milligrams across those two hundred marks. A hundred marks therefore holds six milligrams. Ten marks then holds point six milligrams which equals six hundred of the smaller measure since a thousand of them make up one milligram. I just use milligrams now when talking about amounts of this because that matches how typical amounts get described. If anything else needs sorting out let me know.

NorthKettle44archiveApr 30
↳ replying to @ClearPebble80

Sure those sample amounts are just made up yet the tool works out the strength correctly. Skip the microgram figures and try grasping what the strength part actually shows.

IronAlder42archiveApr 30

I began with the newer option while still using the prior one. Two months back I switched fully to the new choice in order to cut down on unwanted effects from the old one. Since then I've been tweaking the amount and tracking my hunger signals in a tracking tool to locate the right level for continued use. I eat more sweet items now but I link that to my updated view that no foods are banned because the urges have quieted. I create candies and baked goods as a hobby yet rarely want them for myself. The other day I felt like trying a chocolate shake so I bought a small version but left most of it behind. These compounds help me pause once I'm full. I have always picked nutritious meals just in bigger amounts than needed and desserts were never my usual choice. I'm actually liking the sense of command that lets me try things I used to think I shouldn't have. This is really improving how I connect with eating and with myself.
