Aggressive Retatrutide Dosing and Weight Loss Updates

32 replies22 peopleJul 5, 2026☆ Follow
Summary

How much weight can someone lose on high-dose retatrutide alone while staying sedentary and eating whatever they want?

One user lost 60 pounds in 4.5 months on retatrutide, starting at 229 lbs and reaching 169 lbs, using an aggressive schedule that reached 12 mg. They ate fast food and sugary drinks without tracking calories and initially avoided all exercise, later adding some lifting. Skin tightening occurred without sagging despite the speed, and side effects were limited to a couple of months. Others noted the value of adding movement for long-term health while acknowledging the results achieved without it.

What this discussion establishesWhere people disagree

Whether resistance training or cardio should be added for better health and body composition versus stopping at the weight goal with a normal build

Still open

Long-term maintenance, potential health impacts of the rapid loss and aggressive dosing, and whether the user will sustain gym habits

Nothing here is advice.

Starting weight 229 pounds, current weight 179.1, goal 165. Taking 10 mg every five days with no gym, no diet changes, no cardio, and a completely sedentary lifestyle. Using an aggressive titration schedule on retatrutide alone.

Typo or did you take 10 mg on the 18th? Solid results either way!

PatientHarbour61archiveJul 5

Lots of threads here cover peptide combinations and protocols, but the single best stack is straightforward: GLP-1 plus resistance training. Lifting weights will give better outcomes over the next year than anything else.

ClearLantern70archiveJul 5

Solid progress. I agree with the point about resistance training making a lasting difference.

PlainAlder11archiveJul 5

Roughly four pounds a week then?

Not a typo. I finished one vial, mixed another, and injected on both sides of my stomach the same day. Hit a plateau and got impatient. Thanks! I don't like lifting. Even though I could move heavy weights quickly after nine months of natural training, it felt pointless. No plans to get shredded or muscular again. Once I reach 165 that's the end. Lost 21 pounds the first four weeks, 16 the next four, and 13 in the following five weeks.

Eccentric movements work well: lift a weight and lower it slowly. You don't need heavy loads or many reps. A few minutes a few times daily builds noticeable strength and muscle. It also works with bands or bags.

RustBramble70archiveJul 6

Your skin hasn't loosened at all either. That's a bonus, speaking from experience.

BlueMarble65archiveJul 6

Keep in mind that exercise matters if the aim is a longer, more active life.

I used to be quite muscular and trained consistently for hours. Tried again years later but lost interest in that lifestyle. Appreciate the suggestion but it's nothing new. No desire for lifting, cardio, or anything strenuous. Targeting a normal build at 165 and nothing beyond that. Surprised myself too. Expected loose skin after 50 pounds so fast, yet the stretch marks on my arms and lower stomach actually look less obvious now.

IronHarbour22archiveJul 6

Used to be a zyzzbro? Aware of that? Got potential? RIP to the old forum. You probably could build decent size with just two full-body sessions a week given your past strength, even if you don't care about it.

BlueMarble65archiveJul 6

GLP-1s can bring on anhedonia, which changes motivation. No need to bodybuild, but even basic walking helps.

LevelAlder29archiveJul 6

Great progress. You know your own goals best, and what counts is that you're happy with them.

You mirin? Used to do full-body workouts five days a week, sometimes twice a day, with crazy progression even naturally. Thought about returning but it feels like a chore now. If DMAA ever came back though... I've only been on a GLP-1 for three months. The lifting clips are older. I'll do what I want with my body, but thanks. Appreciate the understanding. Being muscular never gave the peace of mind that being humbled by the extra weight has.

That song drop is great! You seem self-aware, good for you.

Solid progress, you're getting close to attractive. The dosing schedule is wild, keep updating. Massive organ issues or wrecked metabolism would be as funny as hitting your goals cleanly and quitting peptides. I'm on team do at least some cardio, fellow sedentary guy. My own mental health was terrible before GLPs and it's improved a lot, though still not great. Like going from freezing to just cold water. I'll take it.

CopperBeacon14archiveJul 8

Mirin, and the username is funny.

RustBeacon82archiveJul 8

A bit jealous you avoided loose skin. Wild what retatrutide can do even with zero activity in a short time. Looks like the old results from strict calorie counting and heavy gym work before these drugs existed.

I've wanted to drop the thick-solid-tight pasta on progress posts here or on reddit, but everyone stays so positive it's hard to bring that old forum energy.

IronMarble78archiveJul 10

Impressive, good for you.

KeenKettle95archiveAug 17

Small update: now down 60 pounds total, 229 to 169 in 4.5 months. Weight loss slowed after I restarted the gym last month but picked back up after moving to 12 mg. Gaining muscle while losing fat.

You said no dieting, but roughly how many calories were you eating at the 10 mg every five days dose? What were your usual eating patterns?

KeenKettle95archiveAug 17
↳ replying to @SlowLedger41

Probably around 1,200 if I had to estimate. Still ate Taco Bell and McDonald's, drank lots of Red Bull and other energy drinks. Ate whatever whenever. Still enjoy sugary drinks even at 12 mg.

CopperSignal27archiveAug 18

That pace carries a real risk of gallstones, several percent at over 8 kg a month, though the later numbers are closer to 6 kg so lower risk. Getting through the fast phase without issues is good. A better diet and exercise help, as does not being obese. If someone won't exercise or eat well, losing weight is still worthwhile. Extra protein is useful at minimum. People shouldn't gatekeep by demanding perfection. Losing weight on a poor diet without exercise still improves health. Staying on the medication after reaching goal weight is usually smart, especially without other lifestyle focus.

PatientCompass47archiveAug 18

Great progress! Imagine the results with added cardio and weights. That would be even better.

SlowLedger41archiveAug 18

Gives me a reason to buy a retatrutide kit.

RustQuill56archiveAug 18

Going from 2 mg to 10 mg in three months is intense.

Can't go wrong with extra retatrutide on hand. It worked out and I have no regrets. I agree with the points made. At some point I'd like to eat much healthier. No health problems despite the fast titration. Sides only lasted about two to two and a half months, which was convenient since the skin sensitivity was annoying. I did start lifting last month as mentioned in my latest post. Cardio though? Never. Your take is respectful and thoughtful, and I share the same view. Thanks.

I thought the whole thread was about refusing any exercise and pushing back on suggestions, yet the update shows gym visits with no explanation or debate. Funny group. ETA: you addressed it while I was typing. Congrats on everything. Standing your ground when you wanted to and changing when you wanted to, and you must feel great either way.

Yeah I was pretty set against the gym. Adding muscle while still heavy just made me look and feel worse despite the strength. What changed my mind was the big visual improvement. Dropping 50 pounds and looking better boosted my confidence enough to want more. Saw a chance to look my best and didn't want to miss it. Thanks, I do feel amazing. Retatrutide really changed things for me. I try not to stay rigid; if something can improve my situation I'll at least try it.
