Hunger has returned. My schedule is 5 mg Mondays and 2.5 mg Fridays. What do others do when this happens, raise the amount or just manage it somehow?
The hunger is back
How to handle returning hunger while on a tirzepatide dosing schedule
Users on tirz discuss whether to raise the weekly dose, split it differently, or add a low dose of cagri or reta when hunger returns. Several report success with modest increases or protein-focused eating adjustments, while others note fatigue or side effects from stacking and prefer staying on tirz alone if possible. Individual tolerance varies widely, with slow titration emphasized.
What this discussion establishes- Splitting or raising tirz dose can restore suppression for some
- Low-dose cagri is suggested by some but criticized for added side effects
- Eating more volume or protein can reduce food noise without dose changes
- Not everyone tolerates higher tirz or stacking, so personal limits matter
- Slow titration over weeks rather than days is repeatedly advised
Whether to add cagri/reta right away versus simply increasing tirz, and whether low starting doses of reta are effective
Still openOptimal long-term stacking strategy or when fatigue from cagri becomes unacceptable
Nothing here is advice.
I agree. Tried 250 mcg three days ago and it hit hard.
I have always liked this flowchart. Still doing full tirz once a week.
Total newbie territory here. Jumping straight to cagri is not the move. Just go up on tirz instead of risking extra sides from adding something new.
What compound are you on?
Try going up in dose. Also check your food intake. If calories are too low there is nothing left in the stomach to keep you full even with delayed emptying. I ate a bit more earlier this week and it cut the noise plus kept me comfortable until the next pin.
No point forcing a lower dose when you can still go higher. Tirz has data up to 15 mg and reta to 12 mg. Plenty of room left before adding cagri, which gave me bad fatigue. Save that for the final push if needed.
Just do one 7.5 mg pin on Monday.
I cannot handle that amount.
That is fine. Some people cannot tolerate higher GLP-1 doses, which is why cagri or elora interest me. No need to keep pushing tirz if you already know your limit. Stacking a small amount of the other option avoids endless titration.
You handled 5 mg so you should be ready for at least 6 mg.
Some influencers push starting reta at 0.5 mg then immediately recommend cagri because reta does not suppress appetite enough. Maybe a proper starting dose would work better before adding more compounds.
Lots of nonsense online since reta is still new. My partner saw a clip claiming it is not even for weight loss, which is absurd given how strong it is.
Some claim reta only works for fit athletes and does nothing for people who are obese.
A 0.5 mg cagri pin the day after reta helps me. Reta alone does nothing for food noise at the 2 mg level I am on now. Keep testing combinations until something fits your body.
Why split the dose unevenly? Try 4 mg Monday morning and 4 mg Thursday night, then raise a little after four weeks if needed. Protein, water, and watery vegetables help too. Hunger often means you need more water.
After stalling on high-dose tirz I added cagri slowly then reta. Eventually dropped tirz to 10 mg, kept cagri at 1 mg and reta at 10 mg on alternating days. Hunger went to zero but I titrated extremely slowly and used protein shakes when needed. Everyone responds differently so experiment carefully.
Could also be survo or maz.
Oat bran mixed with yogurt works if you want to avoid more compounds.
I do not have Mounjaro pens, I draw it up myself.
Try pinning 6 mg next week and check whether hunger stays under control.
